In Memoriam
Ty’s demeanor with clients was always kind, approachable and patient. I will never forget how supportive and compassionate he was. -Sue Jones
A quality guy whose brilliance was a privilege to learn from. He always made time to share information. -Allan Ehrlick
We had some of the best times talking about everything, anything or nothing. His presence was contagious to be around. -Jennifer Sullivan Totten
Ty made me feel very important and like I was his only client. I will cherish those memories forever. He was one Class Act! -Jonny Enz
As horsemen and women, we all know the depth to which we love our equines. I realize I’m not the only person whose every hope and dream hangs upon their horse, but I do have Dr. Wallis to thank for preserving those hopes and dreams. His ability to perform challenging surgeries and turn a poor prognosis into a promising young athlete, was a true gift. He was kind, encouraging, and helpful. A true light in this world that will never, ever be forgotten. Thank you. -Sarah Olmstead This year at Scottsdale, we played our annual round of golf before the show started. Ty shows up with his arm swollen 4 sizes larger than normal (from being kicked by a horse that day). Normal mortals would not even be able to swing a club, but not Ty! He walks up to the tee, doesn’t even take a practice swing, and hits a huge drive with a 2 iron and passes my ball (hit with a driver) with tens of yards to spare! That’s how Ty always was; amazing and didn’t even look like he was trying. -Jeremy Harper Every time I was with him is a favorite memory. -Will Totten

Thankful for your caring hands on our critters in Texas and at horse shows. -Laura Paris
Ty was so dang cool! I mean flying yourself to places is what many of us dream about! He impacted so many lives … not only his clients and community, but also his colleagues. Fly high Ty, see you on the other side. -Shem Oliver

Susan Vandecar Sidles, age 79, of Scottsdale, Arizona passed away on Sunday, Feb. 13, 2022. Born September 23, 1942, to Burl E. Vandecar and Verva M. Vandecar, Susan graduated from York High School in York, Nebraska in 1960, and from the University of Nebraska in 1964. Having shown horses since the early 70s, she and her husband Steve were “fortunate to blend passion and knowledge into a concept, a niche business to fill a need,” thus beginning the journey as founders of Show Season in 1980, providing quality finished garments to generations of riders. Susan is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her beloved husband of 56 years, Stephen; daughter, Stacey Ollinger (Paul); two grandchildren, Stephen Elvis Ollinger and Isabel Vandecar Ollinger; brother, Philip F. Vandecar and nephew, Philip F. Vandecar II. Bred, owned and trained his entire life by Vicki Humphrey, CA Rumors (Islamorada x UF Supreme Surprise), was a saddle seat phenom. He and Vicki’s daughter Lea grew up together. Of his 17 appearances at the regional level, only two were not champion or reserve, and of his 14 appearances at the national level, “Rumors” and Lea earned two championships, seven reserves and three top tens in Half-Arabian Country Pleasure, as well as titles in Saddle Seat Equitation and at National Show Horse. Born on the farm, he was a constant … a teacher, friend and confidant. His sense of humor led to interesting victory passes and he had zero tolerance for being a lesson horse or waiting in the wash racks, but never stopped being a show horse. He spent his final years with his best horse buddy Louis (Bey Berry Love), and they competed for carrots and attention to see who could grow the bushiest winter coat. He was a forever horse who was loved very much.
Bred by Julane White, Bey Berry Love (Hucklebey Berry x Lovilee, by Kaborr), aka “Louis”, was an incredible English and driving horse, whose career in the National show ring led to his forever home with Vicki Humphrey. He was an 8-time National Champion, 6-time Reserve and 11-time Top Ten in open, amateur Randy Meyer and youth English Pleasure, Country, Driving, Show Hack and Native Costume.
