Royal Arabians
When Cindy McGown established Royal Arabians in 2004, she knew that in order to produce quality horses she would have to start with superior mares. Cindy set about finding the best broodmares to bring to Royal Arabians with the help of trainer Leo Hansen. Cindy prides herself on staying true to her mission and attaining success in a relatively short period of time. “At Royal Arabians it is our mission to breed the best examples of the Arabian horse and to provide a home for them to flourish and grow to their maximum potential,” Cindy says. “Our breeding program ensures both beauty and athleticism, by breeding the best examples of the breed today.” With carefully chosen acquisitions, augmented by farm-bred mares, Cindy has, over the course of the last ten years, developed a keen eye for identifying mares who can make substantial contributions to the Royal program. She has used the quality mares they currently own to breed to today’s greatest stallions and continues to purchase mares with certain pedigrees, production capability, beauty, and function to produce the best possible breeding program.

The solid foundation for Royal Arabians proved its worth early on, when in 2007 the Royal Arabians foundation mare Maggie Mae PGA (Magnum Psyche x Rachael Ann) produced a filly that went on to earn top honors. Sired by *Marwan Al Shaqab, RA Nefertiti was 2008 U.S. National Top Ten Breeders Sweepstakes Yearling Filly, 2010 Scottsdale Champion Three-Year Old Filly and 2010 Canadian National Reserve Champion Futurity Filly. She is the dam of both the 2013 Brazilian Champion Junior Filly Sweet Sensation (by HK Keav Power) and Reserve Champion Junior Filly Sweet Serenade, also by HK Keav Power, both owned by Humberto Florezi Filho of Haras Al Hoscan, of Brazil. In 2011, Cindy purchased the mare *Egzonera (Monogramm x Egzotyka) at the Pride of Poland Sale. *Egzonera is one of
Royal Arabians most beloved mares. “We eagerly await her first foal for us in 2015,” says Cindy. “She is a beautifully classic Polish mare and we are hopeful she will produce foals as beautiful as she is.” Devine Chance SA (CWP Chances Are x Solima), a granddaughter of the legendary Bey Shah, came to Royal Arabians in 2012 and has already proven her worth in producing Divine Justice CME (by WH Justice), 2014 Scottsdale Top Ten ATH Yearling Filly. John and Debra Mitchell, also from Mesa, Arizona, purchased the filly in utero. The Royal Arabians broodmare band also includes Regional Champion and Reserve Champion Mare WC Godiva (*Gazal Al Shaqab x JE Ali Selene) who will be shown in hand with Rodolfo Guzzo at the Nationals in October. Other mares include: RA Princess Jammal (*Pershahn El Jamaal x Maggie Mae PGA), Scottsdale Signature Champion Two-YearOld Filly in 2011; Phaedra PR (*Soho Carol x Crysstell), Las Vegas World Cup Champion Mare ATH; Bella Victoria MP (DA Valentino x JRH Psychic Lady); Extravagant Star (EA Echstravagant x MC Shahreis Star); Royal Visione (Da Vinci FM x Z Victoria); and Jumeriah Rose SWF (MA Shadow el Sher x SWF Desert Rose) among many other fine mares. Another treasured member of the Royal Arabians broodmare band is Cinderella WC (SH Hallmark x WC Delekatka). Known for her huge dark eyes and ultra refined face, Cinderella WC captures the hearts of all who meet her. “My favorite in the barn,” says Cindy. “She is so sweet.” Now 21 years young, she is one of the senior members of the family. Her 2012 filly Royal Anastasha, by TF Royal Shahbaz, is beautiful. In the production of elite halter horses, Cindy is quick to embrace the importance of athleticism. “They need a life after halter,” says Cindy. Merpsydita) is a top hunter pleasure competitor under the guidance of Cari Thompson Training. She is also the dam of the 2014 Scottsdale Signature Auction Colt Champion, Royal Maestro (by *Pershahn El Jamaal). Cindy will tell you it was their love for Aria Marchestra that led to the purchase of her dam, GC Merpsydita (Padrons Psyche x GC Natori), both bred by Gerry Canda. In-house trainers Leo Hansen and Ryan Pullara, as well as Cari Thompson Training in Arizona and Copple Show Horses in Washington, are all part of Royal Arabians’ developing performance team. Cindy cites one of her favorite horses — “NW Siensational is a great horse with a wonderful personality. He is a U.S. National Champion halter gelding and is currently in performance training with Ron Copple.” The 2014 foal crop has everyone excited about great things to come. This year was the first foal crop for the two Royal Arabians-bred stallions Royal Invictus (Ajman Moniscione x *San Jose Javiera) and Royal Emanuel (Eden C x *Emandoria). Both stallions have prestigious pedigrees with two of the most beautiful dams in the 5 ▪ ROYAL ARABIANS ▪ WORLD

Bella Vict oria MP world today. “I think the most exciting thing about the 2014 foal crop is the chance to show the first foals of Emanuel and Invictus,” says Mark Davis, Royal Arabians ATH handler. “This first foal crop was great, and I am eager to show them off. Cindy is passionate about her home-bred stallions, noting that, ‘they sired fantastic examples of the breed, but the best is yet to come, as some of our best mares were committed to other stallions in 2012.’ I enthusiastically await the outcome of their offspring when crossed to some of our greatest mares.” The Royal Arabians’ breeding manager Sammy Molina is delighted with Cindy’s most recent acquistions from Stonewall Farms, Jumeriah Rose SWF (MA Shadow el Sher x SWF Desert Rose), and Ivory Lavita E Bella (Versace x Ivory Kometa). After purchasing an embryo and breeding Ivory’s daughter Royal Lavita Bella (by Ajman Moniscione), Cindy wanted to add Ivory to the list of exclusive mares at Royal Arabians. Royal Lavita Bella went Reserve Champion Yearling Filly this year at Region 3 with trainer Rodolfo Guzzo, and will compete at U.S. Nationals this year.
Bella Victoria MP (DA Valentino x JRH Psychic Lady) Bella Victoria’s first foals were born this year and she was a superstar. She crossed very well with both Invictus and Emanuel.

Having gained recognition as a top breeding farm, Royal Arabians has also worked hard to establish a destination marketing center. They have developed a mare lease program coupled with breedings to their homebred stallions. Although some foals will be retained for the Royal breeding program, most will be available for acquisition. Marketing opportunities are not limited to embryos from select mares, in utero foals, and the newborns, but include some of their younger up-andcoming stars and performance horses. Royal Arabians has created a little piece of heaven in Arizona for the queens who grace their pastures and their beautiful foals at side. It is always exciting to see a breeding program develop, holding true to a love for the Arabian horse. Cindy’s passion and dedication to the Arabian horse are sure to propel this extraordinary breeding program and farm well into the future.
