Tulsa’s 10th year was also the 51st Anniversary of the official Arabian U.S. National Championships. Weather this year was excellent, sometimes warm; often cool, but great “horse” weather! For the third consecutive year, Michael Byatt led the Senior Champion Halter Stallion. This year it was Hariry Al Shaqab (Marwan Al Shaqab). Byatt also handled the Junior Halter Mare Champion, Makayah (OFW Magic Wan) and the Futurity Champion Filly, Unforgettable J (MPA Giovanni), who was 2017 Canadian Nat’l Champion too. Senior Champion Mare was Queen Ayda FWM (*Fa El Shawan) with David Boggs, who also led SM Azraff (Faraa Al

Shaqab) to Jr Champion Halter Stallion. Champion Yearling Colt was Fyre Me Up (Spitfyre VF), led by Austin Colangelo. Shown by Sandro Pinha, the unanimous Champion Yearling Filly was Lulu Marajj, daughter of last year’s Sr Champion Stallion, Marajj. Exxalt (Excalibur EA) was Champion Futurity Filly with Ted Carson at the lead. In performance, there were some great moments. Colby Powell rode Out West to roses in the Western HA Open, Tommy Garland won the Western Futurity on Jazzaa Aljassimya, and Brett Becker won the Western Jr Horse on Merry Mac V.
