36TH EGYPTIAN EVENT SHOWCASES WORLD CLASS EGYPTIAN ARABIANS The 36th Anniversary Egyptian Event was special for a great many reasons this year, but most certainly for some of the most extraordinary Egyptian-sired and Straight Egyptian Arabians in the world. The horses came once again to Lexington to compete for roses and prizes from June 7th through the 11th at the world famous Kentucky Horse Park.

2016 Gold Champion Filly was Daenerys (Burak Ben-Eden EA x Good Faith) and Gold Champion Mare was Makeda DB (*Mishaal HP x Jamiil Baarrah), the former shown by Mike Neal, and the latter by Greg Knowles. Most Classic head in the Junior Fillies was Bint Bint Asila RCA. Most Classic Senior Mare was Luna Thee Cielo. Gold Champion

Colt honors went to Aadeyn Mirado Nadir (Ramses Mishaal Nadir x Aadeya Rose) shown by Greg Knowles.The colt was also judged Most Classic. Gold Champion Senior Stallion at the Egyptian Event this year was 5-year-old Ibn Raad, a son of Scapa and a grandson of *Mishaal HP, also the sire of this year’s Senior Champion Mare. Shown by Joao Rodrigues for owner/breeder Elizabeth Witt, the dark bay put on quite a show. The Most Classic award in the class went to DWA Barakkas. Katie Hendrickson handled this year’s winning EBC Filly, FH Shahteeneh Psyche (Shaheen Al Waab) to the Championship and winnings of nearly $17,000 for owner Franklin Holloman, while Rob Janecki led TF Esfahan (Botswana) to the win in the EBC Colts for owner/breeder Allison Mehta. In a terrific class the colt took his title unanimously. The Halter Mare Championship ATH title went to TF Shaambalah with Jacob Wilson also leading for Allison Mehta. Stallion Champion ATH winner was Malik El Masr shown by Katie Hendrickson for Hennessey Arabians. Hunter Pleasure Champion was LL Stallone, ridden by Andres Castano for Lynda Rogers Mgmt Trust. Mike Wilson rode TF Eros to Western Pleasure Champion for Allison Mehta. Friday Night’s Gala and Art Auction was held at historic Fasig-Tipton, and included an art auction, dance and buffet. The EBC Stallion Auction, the seminars and parties, all made the 36th annual Event simply unforgettable.
