Y O U T H N AT I O N A L S HAS LAST, GLORIOUS YEAR IN NEW MEXICO At 23 the Youth Nationals celebrated its final year in Albuquerque, New Mexico with nearly perfect weather. Though the afternoons were a bit stormy, it was modest and the temperatures mostly held below the mid-90s. In all it was a beautiful horse show for the kids, dogs, parents, trainers and over 800 Arabian entries. Moments to remember? There were dozens, but here are just a few . . . Juliette Dell looking spectacular with Nutcracker Sweet PF. Wyatt Potts winning a score of championships and Reserves in Western Pleasure and Reining. Holland Stevens on DA Heatstroke and Anna Redmond on C Hondo. Raven Gropp winning the UPHA JT 14-17 with a brilliant ride on SA Rapid Fire. Karli Kelley taking multiple championships and reserves in division after division, and Kelley Clark winning roses in Sport Horse and Dressage riding strong performers from Al-Marah Arabians. There were special rides by Trent Powell, Sarah Porter, Quinn Eisenfeld and Heather Rodgers, There were great competitors who switched saddles and hats and won across the board. And special horses like TL Lone Star and C Hondo that took multiple riders to memorable rides throughout the show. Many young people took home a first rose blanket this year and we know that they are the first of many to come. There were a dozen other talented young riders we haven’t mentioned with numerous wins in multiple divisions, plus

some great stories of hard work, sacrifice and terrific rides Congratulations and much applause to each and every one of you! We know your parents, sisters, brothers and friends are very proud of you. The Parade of Regions took to the streets this year and it was fabulous ... the last Albuquerque Youth National Championship Show finally came to its close on a sizzling New Mexico Saturday evening. Soft breezes and stars peaking through clouds served as a backdrop for the cheers, laughter and tears of young horsemen and women. There were sighs for those who won’t return next year as competitors, and excited anticipation for the youngsters, the newcomers and the returning veterans, already dreaming about the lights, music and roses at the 2016 Arabian Youth National Championships in its brand new home ... Oklahoma City!
