59TH CANADIAN NATIONALS HAS 6TH YEAR IN BRANDON The Canadian Arabian National Championships celebrated its 59th Anniversary at the Keystone Centre in Brandon, Manitoba. The show, which began in 1958, had its sixth year at the Canadian facility this year. There was real enthusiasm among exhibitors of Arabian and Half-Arabian horses at the show. Locally, visitors received a warm, Brandon welcome. Sessions from August 14th through the 20th were enjoyed by American and Canadians horsemen and spectators. Jeff Schall showed the handsome bay Majestico to roses in Canadian National Champion Halter Stallions. Andy Sellman led Impressa MI to win the National Champion Mares. He also took winning rose garlands with Beloved Joy To Behold in Yearling Fillies, Delacroixx in Yearling Colts, JR Francesca in Futurity Fillies, and Marcus TRF in Champion Halter Geldings. Michael Byatt presented the Champion Futurity Colt, Turismo and the Two-Year-Old Jackpot Colt, Hey Man Al Shahania (last year’s Champion Yearling), as well as Amani Al Shahania, the Champion Two-Year-Old Filly. LaRae Fletcher Powell and RD Habanero won roses in the Western Pleasure open. Brett Becker showed Sheza Loded Lady to win the HA Western open, and Rick Gault took top honors with RGT Mozart in Western Jr Horse.
