The 8th year in Tulsa ushered the Arabian community up to its 49th year of official U.S. National Championship competition. Rainy, cold and somewhat dreary weather failed to dampen spirits during the show’s 9 days of beautiful classes and comaraderie. Michael Byatt handled the National Champion Senior Stallion, OFW Magic Wan (Marwan Al Shaqab), who was also the sire of the Champion Futurity Filly, Makayah, and the Champion Yearling Colt, Magic Mystery Z. Senior Champion Mare was RH Triana (ROL Intencyty) with David Boggs, who also handled the Champion Yearling Filly, Aria Quintessa (Trussardi). Trussardi was also the sire of the Champion Junior Colt and Champion Futurity Colt, Truest, with handler Greg Gallun. Junior Champion Filly, Pitonisa AS (Ever After NA) was led

to the roses by handler, Sandro Pinha. Sandro was also handling the lovely filly in 2014 when she was named U.S. National Champion Yearling Filly. In performance, there were some fabulous rides and not-to-be-missed classes at the show. Jim Stachowski, always a top English competitor, rode Boltz Afire CA to roses in the Purebred English Jr Horses and DaVinci Reflection WA in the HalfArabian. He won the $100,000 AEPA Futurity on Supreme Sensation SMP and his associate, Sharon Blendinger, rode Bayonce to win the HA English $50,000 AEPA Futurity. 2015 Canadian National Champion Park Horse, Defying Gravity RGS and Johnny Ryan added U.S. National Champion Park roses to their collection. Joel Kiesner won the HA English on Emperors Fire and the HA Pleasure Driving with full brother Adams Fire, both unanimously. Joel also won the HA English Futurity with Debonheir DGL. Joel Gangi rode KW Hero to tri-color in the Purebred Country English and Sal Mineo BF to win the Half-Arabian Country, while Chad Judy won the Show Hack with Glitterati and the Pleasure Driving with DFA Mercyme. Ron Copple won the HA Western Pleasure with STLA C Im Fondau and the HA Western Futurity with Blue J. In the purebred and the HA Western Junior Horse, Joe Reser guided the winners, first with Monaco Jullyen V and then, unanimously, with Rocked and Reloaded. Much applause and cheers followed Jody Strand and his unanimous Western Pleasure Open winner, Zefyr on their victory pass for the third consecutive year! In addition to a unanimous ride on Girl On Fire in the HA English Futurity, Jessica Clinton won the purebred Country Jr Horse on Block Buster PF and the HA Country English Jr Horse on Missknowitall. In the English Pleasure Open, the competition was extraordinary, with Jessica Clinton teaming JK Heiristocracy (Afires Heir) to the rose blanket and the magnificent Afire Bey V Perpetual Trophy. Good times and great performances came together to make the eighth U.S. National show in Tulsa an exciting and memorable event.
