• Part of the Master Planning team and responsible in compilation of all existing and new site assessments and creating the Master Plan documents.
A Multi-Phase Master plan to add 450,000 SF to the existing campus facilities, addition of 264 new patient beds, expansion of all the Diagnostics and Treatment including ED, Imaging, 16 new OR’s, clinics and support services.
• Responsibilities included presenting various growth volumes for the community’s growing health care needs within the Mission Viejo Campus and a new Greenfield site in Rancho Mission Viejo.
• Developed conceptual floor plans and layouts for an expanded Emergency Department, two patient towers with new 455 private patient rooms, new Diagnostic and Treatment to support the Hospital, remodel and addition to the surgery suite, and proposal for a new parking structure to support the growing Hospital. • Responsible for developing presentation floor plans for seismic upgrades to the Mission Hospital Laguna Beach campus.

Kaiser Westside Medical Center Kaiser Westside Medical Center, Hillsboro, OR (2005-2006) A 450,000 gross square feet of new Hospital/ MOB to an existing Kaiser Permanente Campus as an expansion to the West side of Portland.
• Responsibilities included medical planning for the first phase of 450,000 square feet of space and would grow from an initial 138 beds. The main hospital building, two parking garages, a medical office building, and a hospital support building were to be part of the first phase of construction, with additional buildings and hospital beds to be added later to bring the total size of the campus to 2,000,000 square feet.
HILLSBORO / OREGON • Developed the program for the Hospital Support building, client meetings for design development and complete program and planning documentation after design development phase. • The project went on hold for a few years and is currently under construction (Non-ZGF firm as the architect)

Healthcare Benchmarking (2007 - 2011) • Responsible for analysis and identifying both a range and mean of departmental net to gross area ratios and floor gross areas in various ZGF hospitals for the major departments like ED, ICU, Imaging, Pharmacy, Lab and Surgery in order to compare them to national averages, and to analyze whether these ratios have undergone significant change occurring in healthcare practices and technologies.
NET SQUARE FEET (NSF) BUILDING GROSS SQUARE FEET(BGSF): This is measured as the space within the walls of a room or the usable floor area This is calculated as the total area occupied by the building measured from outside face of assigned to a function in an open area, for example, Nurse stations, cubicles, staff work exterior wall to outside face all around the building. Area includes stairs, elevators, shafts, areas or workstations. This space includes the floor area needed for casework, furniture, mechanical/electrical rooms, exterior wall assemblies and all departments. fixtures and door swings, but does not include wall thicknesses. It is measured from the inside face of all walls and enclosing elements. It does not include structural elements such as columns and column enclosures that may protrude into a room.

Seattle Children’s Hospital Campus Janet Sinegal Inpatient Bed building, Children’s Hospital & Regional Medical Center, Seattle, WA – 103,000 GSF Train Renovation, Children’s Hospital & Regional Medical Center, Seattle, WA – 80,000 GSF Melinda Gates Ambulatory Care Building, Children’s Hospital & Regional Medical Center, Seattle, WA – 200,000 GSF ED/OR Expansion project, Children’s Hospital & Regional Medical Center, Seattle, WA – 30,000 GSF Over 400,000 gross square feet of addition and renovation of the Seattle Children’s Hospital Campus which included an addition of 300 private patient beds and multispecialty clinics collaborating with the main hospital
• Eight major projects enable the award-winning Seattle Children’s Hospital to achieve the highest level of family-focused care with private patient rooms, family area, healing gardens and userfriendly wayfinding. The 103,800-square-foot Janet Sinegal Patient Care Building provides 100 private patient rooms, while the 172,000-squarefoot Melinda French Gates Ambulatory Care Building centralizes all of the center’s ambulatory care clinics into one “clinic of the future.” The program also includes 40,000 square feet of renovations to surgery and a 50,00-squarefoot emergency department addition. A new 216,000-square-foot, 625-car parking structure was built adjacent to the clinics and a 96,400-square-foot administration building consolidates the critical non-clinical functions. Additionally, 116,400 square feet of renovations as well as seismic and infrastructure upgrades were completed in many of the center’s original building.
