Rotaract Chairman Message

Dear Friends, Warm Rotary Greetings. It is a pleasure to have a Newsletter to showcase Rotaract to Rotaractors, their family, Rotarians and their families. Sangae Muzhangu aptly named. Sangu which is a tamil word for Conch has always been connected to success. In Mythology, there was a demon called Shankhaasura, he was torturing all the Devas. They went and appealed to Lord Vishnu, thats how Matsya Avataar was taken and Shankhaasura was killed. Lord vishnu blows his ear which is in the shape of Conch. As Lord Vishnu blows, the Vedhas arise and comes out from it. In history, Conch is blown as a symbol of victory. Whenever Kings come back with victory after war, they are welcomed by blowing the conch. In VIllages, whenever Pooja is being performed in temples, Conch is blown. In Medicine, when we take a deep breath and blow the conch, our lungs get purified. In science, the impure air which enters the conch, has a vortex formation and the air which comes out is purified, thats the the reason why normally sangu is hung in the entrance of houses. The opening of conch is normally left handed and very rarely almost one in lac will be right handed. Rotaractors in our district 3230 are Valampuri Sangu (right handed conch). Hence this news letter is the achievements and accomplishments of the Youth of our district.
