The 12th august, 2008 Dear Sir, Madam, Tree lovers, In addition to participating in the launching of the International Call to enter the Venerable Trees in the list of the World Natural Heritage, you can- contribute to the development of a great exhibition of photographs and slideshow - conferences. I have attached an estimate for an exhibit "ready to hang" on the topic of "Venerable Trees and the forest" and the launching of the Call to request their protection as World Natural Heritage (several options possible). These photographs are actually printed on “Jetflag” canvas (light, resistant and easy to hang) in different formats 4 x 6 meters, 3 x 4 meters et 1,20 x 1,80 meters. On demand, photographs could be print on cotton canvas or polypropylene. Actually, each photograph has a legend written in French and English printed on panels 0.40 x 0.60 meters. The text of the Call is also written in French and English. This text and the captions can be translated into Spanish, Chinese, Japanese and Arabian. The three translations could be printed on large format too. The city of Epinal (Vosges - France) sponsored (patron – sponsor) this exhibition, which was on display for the CitéBois 2006 event. Few days ago these photos were exhibited in the Forest of Concise, near Laval, Mayenne, France. And the 21rst and 22nd October 2006, they were exhibited during the 10th Tree Festival of Reaumont, Isère, France. This exhibit could travel the 5 continents of the Earth, for example, to be hung on display under the sacred trees of Asia, Africa or America, or also on buildings. The exhibit is meant to raise public awareness, and especially children... about the natural and man made heritage. It is our hope that this exhibit grow like the seed that sprouts to become a venerable tree. It can also be displayed with other collective efforts or with other great photographers, keeping the main goal: to ask UNESCO to protect these trees as “World Heritage” and as “Living Natural Monuments”. We could also consider plantations of trees at the same time as the exhibition. Positive aspects:  Outside or in an important and famous Museum: important movement of people.  Pedagogy and awareness about Nature through the theme of trees.  International press covering of the first exhibit on Venerable Trees (nobody has made such an exhibit with such large size photos).  Federated Call around the World.  Raised awareness … in favor of environment.  Exhibit easy to hang: 2 ropes, 2 trees, and the photo is hung! In addition, if the photos are printed on white canvasses, they can be used night and day. In fact, the night we could project slide shows and films about environment on the white side.

Details of the actual exhibit :

 1 photo canvas in « Jetflag », format 4 x 6 meters showing the Bristlecone pine, in California, which will have more than 4000 years old.  3 photos canvas in « Jetflag », format 3 x 4 meters representing:  Olive tree of Roquebrune Cap Martin, France, estimated to 2000 old.  The Cypress of Tule in Mexico and his 50 m of circumference.  The Huon Pine, Tasmania, aged of 10500 years old, in Tasmania (Australia).  12 photo canvas in « Jetflag », format 1,20 m x 1,80 meters representing other venerable trees.  16 strong panels 0,40 x 0,60 meter representing each photo in canvas + the legends in French and English.  1 strong panel 0,40 x 0,60 meter representing he biography of Jérôme Hutin.  1 strong panel 0,40 x 0,60 meter representing the text of the International Call of Venerable Trees ( It could be printed on large canvas too).

Technical Notes: each fabric is maintained by a bar of support at the top and a bar of ballasting at the bottom. At the time of the installation, check that it there has no puddle pool or stains of oil or grease on the ground, coming from the vehicles. They would damage the fabrics...

ESTIMATIVE BUDGET without V.A.T: OPTION 1:

Hiring of the existing exposition only: 1 photo canvas in 4 x 6 meters. 3 photo canvas in 3 x 4 meters. 12 photo canvas in 1,20 x 1,80 meters. 12 strong panels in 0,40 X 0,60 meter. 16 aluminum tubes of 1,20 meter. 10 aluminum tubes of 1,80 meter. 8 aluminum tubes of 3 meters. A Projection conference on large screen (I have a screen of 2 x 6 meters) For the Week End (3 days and installation): 1500.00 Euros. (NB: Not include international transport) For one week: 5000.00 Euros. (NB: Not include international transport) From 15 days to 1 month: 10.000 Euros. From 2 to 3 months: 20.000 Euros. For 6 months: 50.000 Euros. Summer season from June to September, or winter season, from November to February: 40.000 Euros. For one year: 70.000 Euros. These fare include:

The complete exhibition. Round trip transport in France for the exhibition. European accommodations and travel expenses of the author. One or several slides show conferences on the topic of the venerable trees (which could be organized with the schools, colleges, colleges). These fare do not include:

 The insurance “nail to nail” (the applicant of the exhibition will have to contract its own insurance for a value of 20.000 Euros and will send a copy of the contract to the author of the exhibition).  Publicity and public relations. The applicant will commit himself doing public relations in the newspapers, TV and radios and shops to make this exhibition known and the Call of the Venerable Trees.  Traveling expenses for long distances.  Publication of posters, cards, books.

NB : An advance of 50% will be paid by cheque or bank transfer at the time of the signature of the leasing agreement, to hold the exhibition and to manufacture the fabrics if necessary. The CALL of the Venerable Trees is an integral part of the exhibition. OPTION 2: Hiring of the existing exhibition + manufacturing of other photographs on Jetflag canvas :

The existing exhibit: 1 photo canvas in 4 x 6 meters. 3 photo canvas in 3 x 4 meters. 12 photo canvas in 1,20 x 1,80 meters. 12 strong panels in 0,40 X 0,60 meter. 16 aluminum tubes of 1,20 meter. 10 aluminum tubes of 1,80 meter. 8 aluminum tubes of 3 meters. A Projection conference on large screen (I have a screen of 2 x 6 meters) The challenge is to exhibit, in the near future, this exhibit exclusively made with 4 x 6 meters and 3 x 4 meters photos canvas (or bigger!). The applicant or patron of the exhibition will choose the photographs of the venerable trees of the Call which he would love to see into large format, among the 12 canvas in 1,20 X 1,80 meters or others of the collection of the author. Its logo could also be printed on the additional canvas; the patron will become the “godfather” (sponsor) of the photo. But the author of the images will remain owner of the exhibition (see Rights on the Intellectual Property) and the exhibition will be able to still turn around the world. In this present case, to each canvas of 4 x 6 meters or 3 x 4 meters financed by the applicant of the exhibition, a reduction will be granted on the price of the hiring of the existing exhibition.

OPTION 3: Creation of a collective exhibition (in project - to discuss it with the authors): For 200 photographs (collective exhibition): 200 photographs printed on “Jetflag” gathering 10 international naturalists’ photographers that Jerome Hutin will have recommended. The photographs will represent the Venerable Trees, Rainforests, tropical forests, temperate forests, deforestations, and barks of trunks, animals, insects and plants. These photographs will be accompanied by messages of supports for the Call of the Trees written by important personalities from the scientific and artistic world but also by any international public.  Format 400 X 600 cm with Print of the Call: 350,200.00 € HT. (+ expenses of the scans of the slides and page setting.)  Format 300 X 400 cm with Print of the Call: 178,000.00 € HT. (+ expenses of the scans of the slides and page setting.)  Format 120 X 180 cm with Print of the Call: 70,000.00 € HT. (+ expenses of the scans of the slides and page setting.)  Financial benefit for each photographer: 1,000.00 € HT.  Minimum charge for insurance "nail to nail "financed by the sponsor of the exhibition (estimate on request).  Minimum charge for sending of the exhibition (estimate on request depending on the size and the weight of the images)  Minimum charge for the travel and stay of the authors, at the time of the installation and opening of the expo: For France, a fixed price of 300 € could be discussed.  (in addition) Impression of a booklet for the Call, in French, English and Japanese, on paper PEFC or FSC (estimate and number of pages to be defined).  We could also show and sale the book " Les Arbres Vénérables " from Jerome Hutin but also the books of the other authors. NB:  Prints or canvasses will remain the property of the author, and will be able to turn around the world.  The partners who will finance this exhibition will be able to have their names and logos close to the photographs or on one additional panel and at the time of a photo projection, whether it is for 10, 30 or 200 photographs, or more.

 Transport expenses of the author and insurance of the exposition paid by the applicant.  The Agency of Communication (or the sponsor), will be able to keep the exhibition during 3 month (cf. more - negotiable). OPTION 4: If order by an agency of communication: The Communication Agency will take care of prints, and graphics. Only Rights of representation bellow and travelling expenses of the authors would be paid in advance, with the signing of a contract. In this case I would provide to the Communication Agency, original slides (Indemnity in the event of losses, theft or deterioration: 2000 €/slide), or Scans in High definition. The Communication agency can also do its own scans of the slides. RIGHTS OF REPRESENTATIONS (could be offered for the sponsors having financed the exhibition): Photographs used for trade fairs, exhibitions in buildings of companies, exhibitions on the spot of sale).  All photographs black and white or colour, until 1m2 :  By additional square meter:

Call to enter Venerable Trees of the Earth, as World Heritage : The trees live older than the men do; there are, thousand year old which survived the storms, the axe, the fire or the indifference. Some had seen many generations of human beings. They are the only witnesses of our past, survivors of the 90 % destroyed original forests in the world. The very old trees deserve the respect, which we must give to the wise old men who crossed time. Nevertheless, in the world, sometimes, we forget them in an end of forest, an extent of desert, a slope of mountain. Worse still, they are cut down without warning. Give them homage. A start is necessary everywhere to find a solidarity of planet with regard to these trees of life which, them, can also trace us the ways of a greater human fraternity. This call to the world respect will be send to the UNESCO to enter large monumental trees in the list of “World Heritage”. It relates to also the States, the regions, the communities, and each one of us. So that everywhere in the world, we recognize the trees aged of several centuries, that we would see them and flower them as a sign of friendship, that we plant and that we protect their descent, relay of planet. Few personalities already aware to trees are invited to join this call in favour of the venerable trees of the world. Is not it of better symbol of nature to celebrate nature and man together? Moreover, better encouragements for all countries to start this move.
