Arcadia Contemporary is proud to host the very first exhibition of works by master painter, Jordan Sokol. Originally hailing from Queens, NY, Sokol’s exploration of classic painting when began when he immersed himself in the curriculum at the famed Florence Academy of Art in Italy. During the years at the Academy, his mastery in all artistic mediums led to an offer for the student to become the teacher. and in 2013, he moved to Spain and began teaching privately from his studio in Madrid. 2014 brought Sokol’s return to the United States upon the invitation of The Florence Academy of Art to become the Academic Director for what would be the school’s very first U.S. branch in Jersey City, N.J. Jordan Sokol has taught drawing and painting workshops throughout the United States and Europe including such prestigious schools as The Gage Academy of Art in Seattle, the Canova Atelier in Rome, the Janus Collaborative in New York, and the Art Students League of New York. His work has been featured in numerous publications including ‘Lessons in Classical Drawing’ as well as ‘Lessons in Classical Painting: Essential Techniques from Inside the Atelier.” In 2013 Sokol was honored as one of the ‘25 Artists of Tomorrow’ by American Artist Magazine and his works have been exhibited internationally, including at London’s National Portrait Gallery as part of the 2015 BP Portrait exhibition. Jordan Sokol is represented by Arcadia Contemporary in Los Angeles.
