RECITATION OF THE ROSARY THE 1ST GLORIOUS MYSTERY: THE RESURRECTION Prayer After the 1st Mystery O Mother of Perpetual Help, thou art the dispenser of all the gifts which God grants to us, miserable sinners; and for this end He has made Thee so powerful, so rich and so bountiful, in order that Thou mayest succor us in our misery. Thou art the advocate of the most wretched and abandoned sinners, who have recourse to Thee; come to my help, I commend myself to Thee. In Thy hands I place my eternal salvation, and to Thee I entrust my soul. Count me among Thy most devoted servants; take me under Thy protection, and it is enough for me. For, if Thou protect me, I fear nothing; not from my sins, because Thou wilt obtain for me the pardon of them; not from the devils, because Thou art more powerful than all hell together; not even from Jesus, my Judge, because by one prayer from Thee He will be appeased. But one thing I fear; in the
hour of temptation, I may through negligence fail to have recourse to Thee, and thus perish miserably. Obtain for me, therefore, the pardon of my sins, love for Jesus, final perseverance, and the grace ever to have recourse to Thee, O Mother of Perpetual Help!
THE 2ND GLORIOUS MYSTERY: THE ASCENSION Prayer After the 2nd Mystery O Holy Virgin Mary, who to inspire us with boundless confidence, hast been pleased to take the sweet name of Our Mother of Perpetual Help, I implore Thee to come to my aid always and everywhere in my temptations, after my falls, in my difficulties, in all the miseries of life, and above all, at the hour of my death. Give me, O loving Mother, the desire and the habit always to have recourse to Thee trusting that Thou wilt be faithful and come to my assistance. Obtain for me this grace of graces: the grace to pray to Thee without ceasing and with childlike confidence, that I mayest ensure Thy perpetual help and final perseverance. O Mother of Perpetual Help, pray for me now and at the hour of my death. Amen.
THE 3RD GLORIOUS MYSTERY: THE DESCENT OF THE HOLY SPIRIT Prayer After the 3rd Mystery O Mother of Perpetual Help, grant that I may ever invoke Thy Most Powerful Name, which is the safeguard of the living and the salvation of the dying. O Purest Mary, O Sweetest Mary, let Thy name henceforth be ever on my lips. Delay not, O Blessed Lady, to help me whenever I call on Thee, for, in all my temptations, in all my needs, I shall never cease to call on Thee, ever repeating Thy Sacred Name, Mary, Mary. O what consolation, what sweetness, what confidence, what emotion fill my soul when I utter Thy Sacred Name, or even only think of Thee. I thank God for having given Thee, for my good, so sweet, so powerful, so lovely a name. But I will not be content with merely uttering Thy Name; let my hope for Thee prompt me ever to hail Thee, Mother Of Perpetual Help.
THE 4TH GLORIOUS MYSTERY: THE ASSUMPTION Prayer After the 4th Mystery May we be assisted, we beseech Thee O Lord, by the worshipful intercession of Thy glorious Mother, the ever-virgin Mary; that we who have been enriched by her perpetual blessings, may be delivered from all dangers, and through her loving kindness made to be of one heart and mind; who livest and reignest world without end. Amen.
THE 5TH GLORIOUS MYSTERY: THE CORONATION OF THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY Prayer After the 5th Mystery Behold, O Mother of Perpetual Help, at Thy feet wretched sinners, who have recourse to Thee and trust in Thee. O Mother of mercy, have pity on us; We hear all men call Thee the refuge and hope of sinners: be therefore our refuge and our hope. Help us for the love of Jesus Christ: hold out Thy hand to fallen wretch, who commend themsleves to Thee and dedicate themsleves to be Thy servants forever. We praise and thank God, who of His great mercy hath given us this confidence in Thee, a sure pledge of our eternal salvation. Alas, it is only too true that in the past we have fallen miserably, because we did not come to Thee. We know that with Thy help we shall conquer; We know that Thou wilt help us, if we commend oursleves to Thee; but we are fearful lest in the occasions of sin we shall forget to call upon thee and so we shall be lost. This grace, then, do we ask of Thee; for this we implore Thee, as much as we can and know how to do; namely, that in the assaults of hell we may ever run to Thy protection and may say to Thee: Mary, help us; Mother of Perpetual Help, permit us not to lose our God.
