PROJECT I: The Blank Facade Canvas

PART ONE: Preliminary Research History

Fabric formwork is a building technology that involves the use of structural membranes as the main facing material for concrete moulds. Unlike traditional formwork, the material is highly flexible and can deflect under the pressure of fresh concrete.

ROMANS First appeared with the romans as a result of industrial revolution The Roman architect and engineer Vitruvius explains a method of creating two retaining walls that are filled with clay in woven reed baskets.

The steps chosen made the pavilion very flexible for me. I was able to change the shape as I wanted, trying circles, then polygons, until I reached the shapes that gave me the feeling I wanted. The code was however, hard to edit when I tried to create the differences in the parameters used.
