REDUCE HEAT LOSS WITH GARADOR’S INSULATED SECTIONAL GARAGE DOORS

With heating bills going up, insulation is now even more of a priority. Help reduce heat loss and energy bills with a fully insulated Garador Sectional garage door. Garador Sectional garage doors have been designed to offer maximum insulation, with 42mm thick double skin steel sections each evenly filled with dense CFC-free polyurethane foam. STRAIGHT REVEAL? CHECKED REVEAL? TURN THE CAVICLOSER

The Type V Cavicloser from Cavity Trays of Yeovil consists of a moulded profile casing within which is a thermal insulation core. Supplied with its own securing ties, the closer is delivered with its faceplate flat, ready for immediate building into a straight reveal. However, the flat faceplate also incorporates a hinged section, permitting that part of it to be turned 90 degrees. By so doing, it is transformed into a Cavicloser suitable for a checked reveal. The turned section ends up lying against the inner (cavity) face of the outside skin.

In this position, it acts as a separation barrier between wet outside skin and window frame.

WEST FRASER LAUNCHES A NEW ARCHITECTS’ PAGE

For the past six years, West Fraser (formerly Norbord), has partnered with RIBA Journal to hold an annual competition that challenges architects to use the industry’s most popular OSB brand, SterlingOSB Zero. With a different brief each year, the competition has been hotly contested by some of the industry’s most creative architectural practices, all vying to win the top prize of £2,500.

The interest from architects in West Fraser products, and the company’s environmental credentials, has led to the development of a specific architect hub on the website https://uk.westfraser.com/ resources/architect-support/.

The new page details the competition as well as providing tailored information such as CPDs, downloadable product datasheets and BIM objects. The architect can also order product samples.

INDOOR AIR QUALITY

Indoor air quality is of prime importance. Virus transmission occurs more readily inside than out. Inadequate ventilation and insufficient fresh air allow pathogen build up, increasing the risk of infection. Regular ventilation in enclosed areas can reduce infection by over 70%. Vectaire products bring fresh air into the home and remove impurities. Condensation and pollution (and pathogen) levels can be controlled continuously, economically and at really low noise levels, whilst ensuring minimal heat loss. WICKLOW HOSPICE IN IRELAND, POWERED BY PANASONIC HEAT PUMPS

Panasonic Air-to-Water Aquarea Heat Pumps are providing energy efficient heating and hot water to the Wicklow Hospice in Ireland. Consultants, J V Tierney & Co and main mechanical contractors Quinn Downes Ltd, created a design for a low carbon heating system to service the facilities of this new hospice. The solution, featuring a Panasonic Aquarea H Series T-Cap system delivers a low environmental impact, requires minimal maintenance, and is highly energy efficient and yet cost-effective. Base Engineering Ltd specified and installed six Aquarea H Series T-Cap 16kW units along with a Panasonic Cascade Controller to provide underfloor heating to 2022m2 of floor space to the new building.
