METAPHOR
The path climbs uphill, a metaphor of the transition of human life from the earthly to the eternal, the path of life where we encounter sudden changes and turns. This symbolizes each person’s dignity and right to respect, regardless of age, physical conditions and social level. Isn’t our revolution about these things? 03
FITTING THE ROAD ON THE PLOT
The road is enclosed in a circle that fits into the border of the plot. 04
ADAPTING THE SHAPE TO THE RELIEF
The shape is adapted to the hillside relief, in order to minimize interference with the existing context and reduce the cost of construction. 05

NEEDS OF LOW MOBILITY PEOPLE
Adapting the path to the needs and comfort of low mobility people: providing horizontal landings, keeping slopes to accessible norms, and adding hand rails. 09
INFRASTRUCTURAL SUPPORT
The infrastructural support of the designed memorial space – adapting public parking lots for bus groups, adding bicycle parking and a public toilet. In order to provide the best visibility of the cascading memorial walls from the main allee of the park, it is recommended that the existing engineering build be reduced in size, or ideally moved. 10

VIRTUAL SCALE
The design includes а multimedia component. At the beginning on the path, visitors could download an app on their smartphones that will provide a multilingual audio guide. Based on the location in the memorial space and the picture on the wall, the app will play an audio track about one of the members of the Nebesna Sotnya (“Heavenly Hundred”) or a specific event during the Revolution of Dignity. This will provide an educational function for the memorial space, especially helpful for foreigners to learn more about this important part of Ukrainian modern history. 13
ARCHITECTURAL SCALE
The cascading walls are made from corten steel. The radiant reddish colour of the steel recalls the fire during the Revolution of Dignity. On the wall are stylized images of the heroes of the revolution or symbolic places, ideally done by perforations in classic Ukrainian patterns. 14
