This project aims to address the increasing lack of progressive urbanism facilities amongst the region of Phurong 4 which will effect the surrounding of the area and the economical factor that can help the cities economist strength which would effect the urban spaces of Phurong 4 . It is hoped that the formula laid down will contribute to the cities bustling wealth and socioenomics factors and community values.

he Ho Chih Minh city is Vietnam largest cities in terms of population and the economic development which the city is ranked 1st in the nation. Ho Chih Minh city has various economic background and activities which becomes the backbone of the city and is the main factor to its interesting central business district expanding into other districts as well. Ho Chih Minh city has big market for tourism as it all locates certain areas preserved sites where historical architecture and national monument becomes the main attraction for visitors and locals alike. The site for the site of the urban design is located in
District 1. The area in District One is one of the main Central Business District capital where rapid development is been progressed. The district of the city area called wards or “Phurong� comprising of commercial used area , residential housing , retail shop lots, public park, and the aligned the Saigon River which is an exsiting water body across the district one. Phurong 4 , comprises of certain shop lots blocks area with retail facilities which is currently diminishing. The public park in Phurong 4 is none exisitng at the moment where no space for the locals to res and enjoy the scape of the cities. Most of the blocks are filled with people living
in the small tight spaces with creates slumps which are congested making less comfort living levels for the people. Urban development creates a huge advantage for the beneficial needs of the economic of the locals and people who reside in the specific region. Moreover so in the case of Ho Chih Minh city of the enormous wave of elite development is currently being development to accommodate the policy being developed to guide the Phurong 4 area. The area is being decline while and urban injection is imperative to improve the standard of livings in the area. Hence a formula is formulated to create a solution for the area.
site plan / masterplan The site is located at the northern region of the central business district of Ho Chih Minh City which is currently sprawling intoa trend of highrise commercial zoning to cater for the new growth and as a supplement to support the tourims sector. The total site approxiamtely is about 27.4 acres where it is some surrounded by highrise building. The highrise building developemtn will improve the cities while low rise residential areas were long exisited since 1802. The site for the urban design intervention is located in District one. District one is the main core of CBD of the city where inside lies certian small wards called Phurong 4. The Phurong comprised of residential , retail block , park areas and waterfront park. The current scenario seeing the
cities not fluorishing. The decaying scenario of Phurong 4 is subjected to the low maintenance in the retail area. Once the Retail area are not functional the business trading will decline which will create poverty in the inner slumps area. Less jobs in the area will create more abondoned structure will be infested with crime prone areas. The parks location are currently not cattered for the locals residence. The parks are only cattered for the commercial zones which prioritise the tourist . The waterfront area is currently used as a parking and garbage disposal. The area is not used to its highest potential. Based on all this conditions it is imperative for the area to have an urban intervention which will boost the social and economic factorst

sustainable design strategies The sustainable design in the urban intervention application is vital to create a long and self sustaining city where cost wiser and green methods are used to create a balance atmosphere. The main target scopes are firstly the residential areas . This sector need interior and exterior application such as solar panel for electrical usage for the apliances . The water harvesting areas are alternative sources where using water source from rain water droppings for grey water , washing material and toilet usage. Other sectors which will have the sustainable strategies are the waterfront areas which will be converted in public parks and pigment of jetty structure which would enable people to access the route via the jetty accross the Phurong 4 region. This will give more positive impact to the tourist and locals that live there a ease
and mobility. Moreover the application of urban chiney towes area located at all sectors of the urban region to create some sort of a filter region for the air pollution created from the traffic and park areas. The tower will be placed at junctions high prone traffic vicinities to cope the issues of greena and healthy air. The material used to create the garden furniture are used from recycled timber to reduce construction cost at the site. This will eliminate the potential risk of blown budget and to utilised the material alternative which will create a low cost construction to the fullest and for the public facilities as well. Furthermore the creation pixel housing dwelling will constraint the rent evaluation of the people living there which automatically creating a comfortable region for theri thermal comfort and a reduce congestions
The activities which are planned in the blocks area sports activities which will benerfit the people working and living in ther nearby area that could create a sustainable environment which would affect the urban residence effectively and applying a more typologies of activities which are imperative for the well being of the people. The green lung and active life style are a key to the sucess of the plan areas which will increase the impact to ther society of all target groups including adults , child, and tennagers which are the future residence and inhabnitants of the city
sustainable park materials The park areas have furnitures of garden theme which are parametric furnitures , table for open cafe concept and circular pedestrian layout to create a sustainable environment of the place together with a reputable space quality which would enhance the activities. The material used to create those items are 100% from recycled materials created from wood , steel and other form of solid material which could affect the cost of the urban intervention much lower compared to any conventional methodology.

// strategy 03 // INSERTION OF KINETIC FLOOR PANELS The kinetic floor panels are a type of floor panels which area inserted into the floor area which have touch sensor that will circulate the motion into electrical stored energy which is transferred into the appliances for the park such as night lighting , wifi cafe and back-up storage which is important for the energy sustainability of the Phurong 4. The idea is also imperative to encourage people to walk the park to have an electrical enerrgy storage.
The Urban Chimney concept is a steel structure which generates wind energy to create a thermal new air filter which is cleanse from the polluted air near the traffic roadside which will create a superb air quality for the users which will create a healthy lifestlye for the people of Phurong 4. ther material structure is basically raw steel which will create a superb tendency for the tower and alot more facilities for the public. The turbines wind will suck the air polluted in the ground levels into the air where inside the tower the air will purify the air to be release into the air and and once in the air it will be amongst the water pigment to be
fallen as rain droplets. The mechanism of the urban chimney is simple and unique. The application is also not limited to one area but all throught out the area of the region. This will be inserted at the waterfront area where all the humidity of the waterfront and carbon dioxide and monoxide in sucked into the tower and purify the air within the area of Phurong 4. The waterfront area is considered to be a sensitive area for pollution where water pollution is in existance. The people will face a clean air supply which can elevate the health level in Ho Chih Minh city ones the strucutre is located through out the urban district which beneficial for the cities
// strategy 04 // APPLICATION OF PV PANELS ON THE FACADE The facade of the retail blocks have Photo voltaic cells that are attached to it which will flow the electrical current to which it is designated such as lighting for offices , restaurants and other appliances that need backup storage electricity. The facade also acts as
inderect lighting at night will provide some sort of interactive ambience light for the retail area which would be a superb place for the retails area as well a crime reduction as night lighting creates safer place and increase liveable comfort level to new heights in the retail
// strategy 06 // HYDRO-TURBINE ENERGY The hydro turbine facility is one of the main energy generator ideas which will convert tidal and wave energy existing in the river banks which will reduce the carbon emission of the and increase alternative use of electrical energy to generate the jetty and waterside pavillion which will create a superb transformation in terms of electrical supply and generator which will be able to conduct the routine back up system of the jetty area. The turbines are used will transferred from other facilities where the material of the steel will not be exposed to rust and low maintenance values are imperative to create a subtle conditions for the turbine.
// strategy 05 // GREEN MARKET AND COLOUR BLOCKS The green market area is will be covered with natural grass turfing which is liveable for the residence to and tourist to create a super environment fot the natrual scape of the retail shop lots. This areas will be a place to create some business for the local population as well as to encourage people to have a public space for them to realised theri daily activities. It is possible for the people to aslo insert green trufing without additional costing where all the low cost surface is used. The natural green turfing will allow more vegetation in the city compound in between the blocks which will create a huge impact interms of envriomental aspects.

The blocks are coloured using VOC low volatile paint which is used to identify different programming within the blocks that are identified based on their activities. The red colour for instance represents retails grocery shops while the yellow colour panel represents Restaurants etc. The main sustainability element is also contributed in the planning and the faster the people are able to identify the blocks the less congestion in the pedestrian routes which will improve visibility and comfort level amongst people visiting the area. Besides that in the tourism aspect this will be the only section in the town where colourful blocks are established to enhance the exterior design and aestheticness which will encourage economical boost for the visitors to come locally and internationally.
