CONTROLLED ELECTIVES A variety of course prefixes are acceptable as Controlled Electives for ARCH majors. Remember it is up to you to check on prerequisites. Thinking about another area of study not listed here? Email with your request. These and other courses might be accepted as part of fulfilling the requirements for a minor. For a complete list of available minors go to https://registrar.okstate.edu/ and click ‘degree requirements’, then ‘minors and certificates.’ Students often ask “What electives should I take?” Well, take something that interests you! That’s what electives are there for, to help you grow as a wellrounded person! Choose from: 3000+ level classes with Gen.Ed. “A”, “D”, “H”, “N”, “S” or “I” - there are many areas of study that could be interesting to you! Exceptions to the level 3000+ rule are: - Any Foreign Language courses – 1000+ levels. - Any follow-on Math or Physics course – 2000+ levels - Any Music performance, voice, theory course – 2000+ levels. - Any Studio Art courses – 2000+ levels. *Art controls their studio enrollment

TRAVEL/STUDY WITH THE SOA, SUMMER 2022
Travel/Study of at least four weeks is a requirement of the B Arch degree plan. Soon we will know if our programs will get the green light to go to Europe and/ or Asia. We hope that we can resume our important travel/study experiences abroad. In lieu of international travel however, students may elect to enroll in the ARCH 3373 Urban USA travel/study to DC, NYC, and Boston which will occur in May. This domestic travel/study can be taken for four credit hours (as a sub for ARCH 4374), or as a 3 credit hour ARCH elective. Ask Professor Bilbeisi!
THE GRADUATE CERTIFICATE
If you enjoy thinking about the technical aspects of design consider obtaining the Graduate Certificate in the Design of the Building Envelope, in coordination with work done in studio. See Professors Homer or Spector with any questions.
MINORS WITH THE SCHOOL OF ARCHITECTURE
There are two minors available to you here - “Architectural Studies: History and Theory”, and “Architectural Studies: Architecture and Entrepreneurship.” Each is 21 credit hours; Degreeworks allows you to check for progress towards a minor!
2216 and 1216 ADVISING MEETING FOR FALL 2022
Monday March 7 at 10:30am in ARCH 170 Group advising meetings for students currently enrolled in 1216 and 2216 (and others who will be applying for Professional School) will be held on Monday, March 7th at 10:30am in ARCH 170. In this meeting we will discuss opportunities for summer and fall, and learn about the Professional School application process. There are many common issues and problems we can help you avoid!
OSU’s ‘STAR’ SYSTEM FOR ADVISING, NOW THE ‘SLATE’ SYSTEM
Via www.star.okstate.edu you will be redirected to the new Slate system to make an appointment with our own Lori Carroll. In order to enroll for the Fall semester, you must meet with an advisor so that your registration hold can be released. The system generates a reminder sent by email and all meetings are on zoom! If you have any additional concerns regarding your enrollment or progress through the curriculum, Lori is here to help! (lori.carroll@okstate.edu) Ready to Enroll for Fall? We hope so! This ARCH Guide was published February 22, 2022.
