CONTROLLED ELECTIVES A variety of course prefixes are acceptable as Controlled Electives for ARCH majors. Remember it is up to you to check on prerequisites. Thinking about another area of study not listed here? Email with your request. These and other courses might be accepted as part of fulfilling the requirements for a minor. For a complete list of available minors go to https://registrar.okstate.edu/ and click ‘degree requirements’, then ‘minors and certificates.’ Students often ask “What electives should I take?” Well, take something that interests you! That’s what electives are there for, to help you grow as a wellrounded person! Choose from: 3000+ level classes with Gen.Ed. “A”, “D”, “H”, “N”, “S” or “I” offered by AMST (American Studies), ART, DHM (Design, Housing and Merch), ECON (Economics), ENGL (English), FIN (Finance), GEOG (Geography), GEOL (Geology), HIST (History), LA (Landscape Architecture), MATH, MGMT (Management), MKTG (Marketing), PHIL (Philosophy), PHYS (Physics), POLS (Political Science), PSYC (Psychology), SOC (Sociology), or SPCH (Speech). Exceptions to the level 3000+ rule are: - Any Foreign Language courses – 1000+ levels. - Any follow-on Math or Physics course – 2000+ levels - Any Music performance, voice, theory course – 2000+ levels. - Any Studio Art courses – 2000+ levels. *Art controls their studio enrollment

CEAT Scholarship applications for the 2021-2022 Academic Year will be available Dec 1. They are due JANUARY 25, 2021. For the online application, go to https://ceat.okstate.edu/scholarships.html You can’t receive a scholarship from OSU unless you apply! Many scholarships are need based, which means you’ll need to file a current FAFSA - ask Lori! To view and apply for the Ok State Board of Architects “Path to Licensure” Scholarship or the OK State Board of Professional Engineers Scholarship (minimum awards are $2,000 to $3,000!), the deadline is February 15; go to https://occf.academicworks.com/ opportunities. Set yourself a reminder and apply! NEW SPRING ARCH ELECTIVES: ARCH PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT - This new one credit hour short course with Prof Bilbeisi will be focused upon preparation for the profession. The topics of core values, career goals, firm culture, mentorship and leadership will be explored. These are ‘lunch and learns’, bring your food to class! This course can help you get prepared for a summer internship. ADVANCED GRAPHICS - Adjunct Prof Lanman will deploy his mad skills and all the techniques he has learned along the way to help you improve your hand graphics capabilities, which are still so necessary for success in this profession! HONORS ADD-ON FOR 2283/3173 - Join Dr. Rabens to explore the life’s work of Frank Lloyd Wright, as a complement to the American Arch H/T or H/T II class.
MINORS WITH THE SCHOOL OF ARCHITECTURE
There are two minors available to you here - “Architectural Studies: History and Theory”, and “Architectural Studies: Architecture and Entrepreneurship.” Each is 21 credit hours, and includes some courses you are already required to take for the major. Degreeworks allows you to check for progress towards a minor!

Tuesday Oct 27, 7:30 p.m. ZOOM CODE: 301 192 6794 An enrollment meeting for students currently enrolled in 1112 and 2116 and others who will be applying for Professional School will be held on Tuesday October 27th at 7:30pm on zoom. Even if you have already met with our Advisor Lori and know what you plan to enroll in for Spring, it is important to attend this meeting to learn about the Professional School application process as well as learn about common issues and how to avoid errors along the way. The meeting can save first and second year students headaches and heartburn!
