SCHOOL OF ARCHITECTURE OKLAHOMA STATE UNIVERSITY

Your close friend has tested positive, or someone in your studio is diagnosed with COVID? Accept the fact that if you have been in close contact with that friend or classmate, you were exposed. Don’t panic. This is going to happen. You should monitor your health closely, self quarantine if necessary, and get tested. Check CDC Guidelines. This is how we contain the virus in our community. You feel feverish, or have any COVID-like symptoms? Stay home and monitor your situation. Let your professors know why you are absent. Keep up with classwork that is posted on Canvas. Call 405-744-7665 to make an appointment for a test swab with University Health Services. You are diagnosed with COVID? Obviously follow your doctor’s orders. Let your faculty know of the situation. Concentrate on doing what is needed to get better! Work remotely if you can, and return to the studio and your classes when you are cleared by a doctor to do so.

OTHER ISSUES: What if I don’t have ample workspace or a good internet connection at home? You’ll need to find public places to study and work - Edmon Low Library, CEAT Student Excellence Center, Endeavor, etc. You’ll need a laptop/webcam/headphones to work this semester. Consider your studio desk as a workday landing spot. Be here when you need to, and work from home when you can. Learn to work efficiently and effectively. What if my classmate refuses to wear a mask? Alert your faculty member, who will pass that student’s name to the Student Conduct Board for action. Facial masks are required to be worn on campus, inside all buildings. Is there free coffee at the School of Architecture? Yes! Each Monday get your baggie of K-Cups from the receptionist in 101 ARCH. You may use the Coffee Cart.

The vision of the School of Architecture is to empower students to make creative contributions in the cause of architecture. The mission of the School of Architecture is to cultivate a collaborative learning community focused upon critical thinking and ethical responsibility. Maintain space between students at all times. OTHER EDUCATIONAL SPACES: Our Shops will be available for student use, the fabrication shop is open Mon-Fri 9am-5pm, and Sunday 2pm-7pm (by appointment). No more than four students are allowed in the fabrication shop at a time. Only one student in the laser room at a time; only one student in either of the Binding/Printing shops at a time. Students are not allowed in the faculty office area. Meetings with faculty, such as for office hours or for other questions outside of classtime, must take place over phone or Zoom, or in larger spaces that accommodate appropriate social distancing.
