Repetition Vs Replication
Parametric Design + Digital Fabrication Workshop 29th November -3rd December @ [A.R.C.], Nicosia
[A.R.C.]
_ adaptable epidermis
teamA: T. Abbara, S. Hadjisymeou, G. Italos tutors: D. Papadopoulos, O Georgiou, M. Georgiou
A surface that filters direct sunlight in order to provide shading and still allow views to the exterior. Future information feeds can include material behavior and physics to enable the use of the same parametric model to weave different materials.
_ de-constructed surface
teamB: Y. Dzyuban, D. Kourri, N. Tsaousis tutors: D. Papadopoulos, O Georgiou, M. Georgiou
A layered surface that filters views in order to regulate privacy. Variation of perforations enables the mapping of different desirable degrees of privacy on the surface. The team created a mechanism that can potentially address various design requirements, including structural integrity, shading, privacy or light.
_ parametric shell
teamC: V. Moutiris, K. Kyriakou, L. Agathokleous tutors: D. Papadopoulos, O Georgiou, M. Georgiou
A curvilinear canopy, designed to collect precious rain water and provide shelter which raises multiple construction possibilities that feed the parametric model. A simplified component that is populated on the surface ensures the essential economy of construction. The parameterization of the environment to respond to the structure was a unique approach, coming from this team.
_ freeform constructor
teamD: N. Tzionis, R. Papadopoulos, C. Hadjivasiliou tutors: D. Papadopoulos, O Georgiou, M. Georgiou
Any free form object of the same functionality can be realized with the specific tool. Variations of material density signify different requirements or load conditions and ensure structural stability.
