WELCOME TO FACADES+ ONLINE ABOUT FACADES+ ONLINE We’re taking Facades+ online to virtually connect some of the world’s most productive building professionals. Much like the national event series we have developed over the past decade, the conference will comprise panels, keynote addresses, and afternoon workshops, as well as networking breaks for both our attendees and sponsors. Facade design always has to strike the right balance between aesthetics and technical detailing—no easy feat. Indeed, architects and designers are expected to satisfy the demands of the client while also meeting performance standards and local building regulations. Facades+ panelists will talk through their process by highlighting exemplary case studies, innovative materials, and strategies for overcoming facade challenges. For sponsorship info contact: ddarling@archpaper.com.

Re-use Renewal

VIRTUAL SUMMIT

APPROACHES TO PRESERVATION & ADAPTIVE RE-USE

FEBRUARY 23+24, 2021 Over the last two decades, cities across North America have undergone something of a renaissance, reversing years of demographic and commercial decline in the process. There is an unlikely, but potent source behind this renewal: underutilized and abandoned historic structures. Because these extant buildings require upgrades to mitigate thermal bridging, outdated mechanical systems, and repair decayed facades, their revitalization presents an opportunity for the entire AEC industry. Moreover, environmental concerns will only continue to push preservation and re-use at the forefront of practice. With all this in mind, the Re-use & Renewal virtual summit will foreground exemplary projects; identify best-case practices for their completion; and spotlight emerging technologies in this vital field.
