The Faces of Our City is the inaugural Facades Awards event that honors and celebrates the architects and others who shape our cities through their work. These awards recognize the ambition, innovation, craftsmanship, and dedication that bring New York’s skyline to life. Faces of Our City aims to inspire future projects and professionals that will continue to define the city’s architectural landscape.
Facades establish the public faces of our city. When we design, develop, and deliver buildings, we are redesigning the streetscape—one piece at a time. Building envelopes serve a dual purpose: providing comfort and wellness for occupants while also creating a visual and hopefully visceral experience for all passersby. Facades embody the architectural language that emerges from the overlapping aspirations and desires of all of their creators.
The Faces of Our City awards provide recognition to the wide range of dedicated individuals—owners, architects, engineers, builders, fabricators, suppliers, manufacturers, and others—who represent and activate our industry and, through their dedication, enable these buildings and our city to stand the test of time.
