The Volunteer Voice 2nd Annual Red Cross Bicycle Safety Rodeo The American Red Cross held its 2nd annual bicycle safety rodeo. The event reached approximately 40 elementary school aged children, teaching them how to be safe while on their bike and testing their abilities to maneuver on their bike. The Vicenza Outdoor Recreation staff checked the children’s bikes to ensure proper alignment and that the brakes were properly functioning. A special thanks to the all the volunteers, Red Cross Club Members, the USO, Global Credit Union, AAFES, CYSS and the VFW for helping to make such a great event.

Bomba Day Safe Haven On 25 April, a 4,000 pound bomb from World War II was defused at the Del Din Peace Park. The American Red Cross Vicenza Station assisted the Garrison in its operation of a Safe Haven for soldiers living at Caserma Del Din who were evacuated from their barracks. Thank you to the wonderful volunteers who assisted during the disposal and those who chose to be on call in case the Safe Haven became a shelter.
