Picturesque town of adobe houses with tile ridged ceilings and elegant country houses, cobbled streets, a beach with a pier and lots of handscrafts stores. There are beautiful lakeside views in Ajijic and one of the best weathers in the world.
This is one of the “Magic Tows” of Mexico, and during the one hour drive to the city of Tequila from Guadalajara, you can enjoy the unique landscape with bluish-green patches of agave plants, used as a base ingredient of tequila, the renowned Mexican drink. This tradition started in 1600, when don Pedro Sánchez de Tagle, the Marquis of Altamira, set distillery, introducing the planting and brewing of Mezcal for production. There are some interesting buildings like the parish temple built in the 18th Century and the Temple of La Purisima Concepción. But the main attraction is seeing the many distilleries that are open to visitors. There are several museums in the most important distilleries and the traditional haciendas of the region. The beautiful surroundings are ideal for some ecotourism activities.

The Haciendas, Rural homes and Ranches, are part of the history of Mexico. Beautiful, historic edifices built in the 16th to 19th centuries, have been restored. The haciendas are born in the sixteenth century as a working farm and manufacturing centers for the production of commodities. During the nineteenth century, some of them became very rich, and this was a period when the buildings had a spectacular architectural development, creating fountains, chapels, cloisters, and other sophisticated details. The interior decoration also
embellished, with elegant furniture, antiques and works of art that came from all over the world. Many of these estates have been restored and developed into beautiful hotel, full of elegant rooms, and sumptuous restaurants. All surrounded by magnificent landscapes, many of them in the countryside. These establishments also offer a wide range of possibilities for leisure, always in line with the culture of the place: from traveling on old vehicles to horsebackriding. They also offer the opportunity
to know the surrounding areas with very interesting posibilities like: colonial cities, places of archaeological interest and natural wonders. The goal is to offer you extraordinary experiences that allow you to satisfy your way of life in the art of living. These include constructions that have endured centuries, with wide corridors and patios as large as the adobe walls demanding respect and embracing you with their unrivalled aroma of the village. You will have the opportunity of experiencing history in this world of yesteryear, of finding yourself in establishments that are unique and special, of touring magical towns with cultural and historic wealth and of feeling the warmth of the local inhabitants. Whether you are traveling for business or pleasure, our spacious installations including accommodations, spas, events and business centers that will allow you to enjoy and coexist with nature. You will also experience the culture and traditions of the inhabitants, relish the most authentic Mexican cuisine, and listen to stories impregnated with legends, myths and fantasies. All of this will transport you to a magical world difficult to forget and leaving you with pleasant memories. Let your dreams become realities in the Haciendas and Rural Homes of Jalisco.
