Army Volunteer Corps Program (AVC)

Military Spouse Appreciation Day is a day set aside each year to recognize the volunteerism, sacrifices and support of military spouses. We welcome our Military Spouses to join us for an evening of painting, pampering, socializing, and relaxation in appreciate for all you do in support of our Military community. We will have some awesome giveaways too.

Education for Professionals: Training for first responders & mandated reporters (Child and Youth Services, Medical, and Law enforcement personnel) and other community agencies on the identification, reporting, and treatment of domestic and child abuse; the referral process; available programs, services, and resources.

Stress Management:

An interactive session to assist participants to recognize the symptoms, causes, and effects of stress and introduce an array of stress management techniques.

Anger/Conflict Management:

An interactive session to assist participants to recognize the symptoms, causes, and effects of anger and learn an array of anger management/ conflict resolution strategies and techniques.

Successful Co- Parenting (After or Before Divorce):

Divorce is a challenging experience for both parents and their children. Many states require parenting courses that helps increase knowledge and resiliency in families that will be experiencing co-parenting. This class may meet your state requirements.

Emergency Placement Care Training:

Are you looking for a way to make a difference in your community? Providing a temporary safe home to children at risk of abuse and neglect may be an option for you. Please contact the Family Advocacy Program Manager at 738-7505.

Victim Advocacy Program

Required annually training for Soldiers, Senior Leaders, & Commanders IAW AR 608-18, Army Family Advocacy Program. Educates individuals on the dynamics of domestic and child abuse; command policy; community programs, services, resources; the identification, reporting, and referral process. Please contact DAVA Program at 738-7505 to sign your unit up for required training

Domestic Violence Victim Advocate Hotline for crisis intervention, safety planning, information and referral for victims. VA provides Restricted & Unrestricted Reporting Options.

New Parent Support Program

Relocation Program

Lending Closet - If you are In/Out-Processing and need essentials like pots and pans, coffee maker and other kitchen items until your HHGs arrive or after your HHGs are picked up, stop by and borrow from our lending closet for up to 30 days. Financial Readiness Program

One-on-one counseling and group education on personal finance is provided for Soldiers, Family members, and civilians in support of Unit Commanders, First Sergeants, FRGs, and more.

Class Do you have new Soldiers to your unit whose first duty station in the Army is K-16 or Yongsan? These Soldiers are required to attend a first termer budgeting class at Army Community Service. 7 October is National Financial Planning Day Did you know there are 6 steps to financial planning? Come into ACS K-16 on 7 October between 11:00 and 12:00 with the 6 steps and receive a Personal Finance Workbook. Hint: look on the Camp Casey ACS page in this same In The Zone Magazine!

Create Healthy Credit Habits. What goes into a Credit Report? Did you know the Financial Readiness Program Manager at K-16 has access to a FINRA Educator’s Code to assist Active Duty Soldiers and their Spouses receive a Free FICO Credit Score and Analysis Tool? Go to saveandinvest.org and click on For the Military Featured Tool: myFICO to find out more about the program. Note: Financial Counselor cannot give out code and must enter the code for you.

Financial Fridays is back: 16 and 23 October 0930-1130: K-16 ACS: Calling all Millennials

This two part class is for you. We will be covering money lessons from Erin Lowry’s first book “Broke Millennial: Stop Scraping By and Get Your Financial Life Together” This two part class will cover your relationship with money, budgeting, financial products, credit reports and scores, credit cards, savings, investing, retirement, homeownership and more. This class is limited to 10 people. Every participant will receive the book as the class guide. Army Emergency Relief (AER) – Soldiers Taking Care of Soldiers

AER provides emergency financial assistance to active duty service members, their families, and retired service members and is located with ACS Financial Readiness. Please contact ACS at 738-7505. If it is after hours, on a weekend or holiday, Emergency Financial Assistance can be obtained from AER through the American Red Cross Call Center 1-877-272-7337 (or from DSN: 94 then 877-272-7337).
