Army Volunteer Corps Program (AVC) Military Spouse Appreciation Day is a day set aside each year to recognize the volunteerism, sacrifices and support of military spouses. We welcome our Military Spouses to join us for an evening of painting, pampering, socializing, and relaxation in appreciate for all you do in support of our Military community. We will have some awesome giveaways too. K-16 Spouses: Join us for our Paint & Sip Party on Thursday, 8 October, 1800-2030 at the CAC Landing Zone. Army Family Action Plan The Army Family Action Plan (AFAP) is your platform to voice quality-of-life issues, feedback, ideas, and suggestions. It’s the best way to let Army leadership know about what works, what doesn’t, and how you think problems can be resolved. Spice up your Relationship Workshop will be held at K16 on Tuesday 13 October from 1000-1100 at the CAC Bldg, Rm 306. Join us on Saturday, 24 October for Healthy Food, Healthy Relationship Cooking Workshop at the Oasis Sunken Garden, DHL @1030-1300. Space limited. FAP will host a Virtual Book Club, “Read, Meet and Talk”, from 1300-1400 on 22 Oct, 5 & 19 Nov, 3 & 17 Dec. Please contact us to sign up! Education for Professionals: Training for first responders & mandated reporters (Child and Youth Services, Medical, and Law enforcement personnel) and other community agencies on the identification, reporting, and treatment of domestic and child abuse; the referral process; available programs, services, and resources. Stress Management: An interactive session to assist participants to recognize the symptoms, causes, and effects of stress and introduce an array of stress management techniques. Anger/Conflict Management: An interactive session to assist participants to recognize the symptoms, causes, and effects of anger and learn an array of anger management/ conflict resolution strategies and techniques. Successful Co- Parenting (After or Before Divorce): Divorce is a challenging experience for both parents and their children. Many states require parenting courses that helps increase knowledge and resiliency in families that will be experiencing co-parenting. This class may meet your state requirements. Emergency Placement Care Training: Are you looking for a way to make a difference in your community? Providing a temporary safe home to children at risk of abuse and neglect may be an option for you.
