Our Vision As the only comprehensive, regional university serving the North State region, California State University, Chico is committed to excellence in instruction, research, creative activity and public service. It will re-imagine the arts and humanities at Chico State.

Opportunity The College of Humanities and Fine Arts and the University have a long tradition of providing access to the arts and innovative humanities programs to the North State. As a place for creating new ways of seeing the world, and for uniting people of diverse backgrounds, this new facility builds on that tradition and will augment our ability to attract and retain top faculty and students pursuing excellence in the arts. The Arts and Humanities Building will be a literal and symbolic gateway between campus and community and will be the first new academic building on the Chico State campus in over ten years. Over and above the building’s $58M construction cost, the University seeks philanthropic support to ensure the galleries, studios, music venues, and classrooms will be technologically advanced, and the programs will have the equipment and support necessary to be fully functional and provide rich and life-changing experiences for all who pass through its doors.
