We are delighted to welcome you this evening to our Summer Racing Evening!
I would like to extend a very warm welcome to today’s sponsors – BresBet who are kindly sponsoring five of today’s races; and Blackmore Building Contractors, who are kindly sponsoring our third race at 7pm. I would like to take this opportunity to thank both of our sponsors for their generosity and wish them a wonderful evening. We are lucky to be welcoming BresBet for a series of racedays over the summer in which they are supporting which started last week on the 28th June.
We have a sensational lineup of racing, with 6 exciting races taking place throughout the evening. Today’s raceday marks the first Wednesday in our July racing series, where we will be racing every Wednesday afternoon or evening throughout July. These races are fantastic settings to bring both friends or work colleagues, and make a fantastic afternoons or evenings out. We hope to be seeing you return across to these great racedays during the month.
We also have an exciting lineup of racing and events throughout the rest of the summer. The season is well and truly underway and we are also racing every week throughout August. Some of our highlights include Rum and Reggae Racenight on Friday 4th August and our Cider Racenight featuring the Wurzels on Saturday 19th August. For a copy of the fixture list, please head into main reception or our customer service point where we have a handy, wallet size fixture list so you can easily plan your next visit!
I have been very impressed with some of the action we have had on course over recent weeks with some very competitive racing and close finishes. As we approach the half way point of the season, our most successful jockey to date is Kieran O’Neill with 4 wins from 16 rides and we have had 4 horses that have won multiple times here already this season, including the Joe Tickle trained, Galactic Glow who is due to line up this evening in the 8.10 chasing his third win of the season here. Best of luck to all owners and trainers with horses running this evening, we are very grateful for your ongoing support at Bath Racecourse.
We hope you have an enjoyable evening, and we hope to welcome you back soon to another 2023 fixture.
Simon Tonge

RACE SUMMARY
ROGUE WARRIOR was no match for Royal Mila on debut at Windsor but that filly has Group-race aspirations and it’s unlikely that she’s up against anything of that calibre here. Next on the list is Godolphin’s Mountain Lake, who wasn’t beaten farwhen third to a progressive type in a Chepstow novice last month and this drop in trip/fitting of cheekpieces are potentially positive factors. Oh So Grand shaped with promise on her introduction and is also accorded respect.
