On behalf of everyone at Bath Racecourse, we would like to extend you a very warm welcome to our SummerAfternoon Racing today which is kindly being sponsored by Betting.Bet.
We are set for a wonderful afternoon of racing, with 6 exciting flat races taking place throughout the day. I would like to take this opportunity to welcome the team from today’s sponsors, Betting.Bet who are kindly sponsoring all of our races today. I would like to thank them for their generosity, and wish them an enjoyable afternoon.
We have a limited number of opportunities to sponsor here at Bath between now and the end of the season so if you would be interested in sponsoring a race for a company or celebration, please do get in touch with myself Sponsorship is a fantastic way to give exposure to your brand or a truly memorable way to mark a day with ourselves!
Today we have qualifiers for both the Bath Summer Series Sprint & Stayers final which will be ran here on Saturday 16th September on what promises to be a fantastic days racing with the Sprint and Stayers Finals each being ran for £30,000. These popular finals take place on Gentleman’s Day here at Bath where we will have live music after racing. Our private boxes have sold out and there are limited hospitality options still remaining so visit our website or call the office to guarantee your place at one of the highlights of the summer here at Bath.
Beyond then we are looking forward to the Beckford Stakes returning to Bath in October following the dry weather last year. This Listed race, taking place on Wednesday 18th October has a prize pot of £65,000 and gave The King his first Listed winner when it was ran at Great Yarmouth last season. Tickets and hospitality packages are available for our season finale and we hope to see you there.
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank all of our Owners and Trainers who have chosen to run their horses here at Bath throughout the season. Your continued support is greatly appreciated, and we wish you an enjoyable time here with us. On behalf of everyone at Bath Racecourse, we wish you luck both at today’s meeting in addition do all future fixtures, and we hope to welcome you back to Bath soon.
I hope you all have an enjoyable afternoon here at Bath, best of luck and we hope to welcome you back to another 2023 fixture in the near future.

Star Ratings Explained
Each horse has been given a star rating, these are defined below:
HHHHH Selected to win the race
HHHHI Good chance of being placed.
HHHII By no means out of the reckoning but at least one or two hold stronger claims
OFFICIAL BHA RATINGS EXPLAINED
HHIII Unlikely to win but not totally without hope.
HIIII Can be given little or no chance.
The BHA Handicappers allot ratings to horses once they have taken part in a sufficient number of races to enable the Handicappers to make a numerical assessment of each horse’s ability
The principal purpose of the ratings is to determine the weight to be carried by each runner in handicap races, with the Handicappers aiming to provide each participant with an equal chance based on its best recent form under its optimum conditions. A horse rated 100, for example, would be set to carry 1lb more than a horse rated 99 (ignoring any penalties or allowances).
The ratings published in the racecard for handicap races are the ratings that were used to calculate the weight to be carried by each horse, whilst in non-handicaps races the rating shown is that of each runner at the time that the entries for the race were confirmed. Any subsequently published change to a rating, either up or down, is shown in brackets following the rating.

RACE SUMMARY
The vote goes to CHARLIE ARTHUR, who produced his best effort of the season so far when hi⁄ng the crossbar at Windsor recently and he remains 1lb below his last winning mark. If Black Smoke is able to back up his heavy-ground Lingfield success under contrasHng condiHons here he will be a threat, while the hat-trick seeking This Ones For Fred, Princess T and Uther Pendragon all make some appeal in this open-looking affair. Hot Team has been in good form of late but appears to be best at 1 1/4m.
