IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Abandonment Policy

In the event of a race meeting being abandoned after the first race has been run, no refund will be made in respect of admission charges and emergency admission tickets will be invalid.

Admission Policy

The Management reserves the right to refuse admission to, or expel any person from, the racecourse, without assigning a reason for so doing, and does not accept any responsibility for loss or damage to persons or to their property.

Disabled Users

Free parking is available by the turnstiles for blue badge holders. For disabled visitors requiring a carer, the carer is admitted free of charge. There is disabled access to both restaurants and a variety of disabled toilets across the racecourse.

Dress Code

Racegoers are advised to wear attire suitable to the weather conditions, however patrons in the Premier Enclosure are requested not to wear sports shorts, ripped denim or football shirts. Shirts must be worn at all times in all enclosures.

Emergency Procedures for your safety

Should an incident occur which is beyond our control, it is important that you are aware of how we intend to look after you. As part of our safety management, we have employed professionally trained and experienced security staff to be located at various points throughout the Racecourse. This information is precautionary and we trust the procedures will not be needed. Please remember in the event of an emergency, to take your belongings with you and under the direction of Brighton Racecourse representatives, proceed quickly and quietly to the agreed area.

Horse Welfare Comes First at Brighton

The safety of horse and rider is of paramount importance to Brighton Racecourse. We have a team of highly qualified vets and doctors following the action at all times and a horse ambulance in attendance at every meeting. It is policy at this racecourse for screens to be erected when a horse requires veterinary treatment on the track. This is to offer some privacy and calm for both horse and vet and does not automatically imply that a fatality has occurred. Equine care at Brighton is provided by the Equine Veterinary Hospital at Arundel. To find out more about our Equine Welfare policy, please visit our website: www.brighton-racecourse.co.uk

Radios and Mobile Telephones

The use of all types of communication equipment is strictly controlled at all racecourses. Members of the public may not use two-way radios, scanning receivers etc., for any purpose at the racecourse. Mobile telephones may not be used in or near any designated betting area, or for off-course betting purposes. Further details are available from the racecourse office.

Photography

Racegoers may take photographs for private purposes in the Grandstand & Paddock and Premier Enclosure. Under no circumstances may photographs taken on the Racecourse be used for publication. Flash photography is extremely dangerous where horses are involved and we kindly ask you not to use flash photography anywhere in the Paddock or near the Winners’ Enclosure.

Taxi

A complimentary telephone is available in the Racecourse Reception to book taxis. Alternatively, racegoers can call Streamline Taxis on 01273 202020. It is advisable to book as far in advance as possible to avoid any delay.

HBLB Prize Money

The Horserace Betting Levy Board General Prize Fund scheme provides £451,970 towards prize money at this racecourse in 2022.

SPONSORS

The Brighton Racecourse Executive would like to thank our sponsors and wish them an enjoyable and prosperous day’s racing.

THE BRITISH EBF PREMIER FILLIES’ HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 3) Total race value £21500 x Owners Prize Money. 1st £9174, 2nd £4586, 3rd £2294, 4th £1146. (Penalty Value £11610) SS

RACE STATS LEADING COURSE TRAINER (17-22): R Hannon (29 wins from 122 runners, 24%) runs THUNDER QUEEN TRAINER-IN-FORM (LAST 14 DAYS): C & M Johnston (9 wins from 57 runners, 16%) runs ENFRANCHISE LONGEST TRAVELLER: ENFRANCHISE trained by C & M Johnston, Middleham, 293 miles. RACE SUMMARY MYSTIC WELLS benefited form the step up to this trip and fitting of a hood when chasing home an unexposed Godolphin filly on return at Windsor. She is taken to go one better off just 1lb higher mark here, perhaps at the chief expense of the tough and consistent Enfranchise. Bottom-weight Thunder Queen shaped as though this new trip would be of benefit when getting up close home over a mile at Windsor, and she is also accorded respect. 1-2-3: 1.MYSTIC WELLS (USA) 2.ENFRANCHISE (IRE) 3.THUNDER QUEEN KEY colours
