The ratings published in the racecard for handicap races are the ratings that were used to calculate the weight to be carried by each horse, whilst in nonhandicaps races the rating shown is that of each runner at the time that the entries for the race were confirmed Any subsequently published change to a rating, either up or down, is shown in brackets following the rating. For novice steeple chasers, the latest hurdle race rating may be shown until such time as the Handicappers allot a separate steeple chase rating Such ratings are prefixed by the letter h.

A competitive mix of older horses meeting younger potential improvers. Aljawaaher has been so consistent this season he must be considered, as a former distance winner on quick ground His much younger stablemate Aloof may also be ahead of the handicapper and has the chance to build on her earlier success, whilst the same could be said of Heritage Vadel. However, the unexposed HERITAGE VALENTINO wasn’t given a hard time here last month and looked on the upgrade on his latest start. A chance is taken that the new headgear and UK Arabian racing’s leading jockey of 2021 make the difference.
