Parade Ring
This is an ideal opportunity for racegoers to see the horses close up and assess their attitude and fitness The horses begin to parade 15-20 minutes before their race, and this is a great chance to pick your horse.
Placing a Bet
The Racecourse Betting shop is situated in the Grandstand & Paddock enclosure. The bookmakers are located in the betting ring in front of the main Grandstand.
The Weighing Room
This is located opposite the Winning Post and all jockeys weigh out here before each race. Their weight, including their saddle, should corr with the weight shown in today’s racecard particular horse in that particular race. Once race is finished, the jockeys will weigh in and weight must be the same as when they started.
On racedays, four stewards ensure each race according to Jockey Club rules and regulations.
Winners Enclosure
After each race, the first four placed horses led into the Winners Enclosure where they ar unsaddled and the jockeys take the saddle weigh in. There are presentations by race sponsors to the connections of the winning on the winner’s podium.
Unauthorised Bookmaking
It is a condition of entry to this Racecourse that only individuals in possession of a valid betting badge and occupying an authorised pitch are entitled to lay bets on the course of their business. Any individual found contravening these conditions will be evicted.
Emergency Evacuation Procedure
“Due to circumstances beyond our control racing has had to be suspended, will you please evacuate the buildings by the emergency exits. You will be guided by members of the racecourse staff to specific assembly points, determined by which area you are in. Once there, please wait until the emergency services and/or racecourse staff tell you what to do”.
Please see the assembly points clearly marked on the map.

OFFICIAL BHA RATINGS EXPLAINED
The BHA Handicappers allot ratings to horses once they have taken part in a sufficient number of races to enable the Handicappers to make a numerical assessment of each horse’s ability The principal purpose of the ratings is to determine the weight to be carried by each runner in handicap races, with the Handicappers aiming to provide each participant with an equal chance based on its best recent form under its optimum conditions
A horse rated 100, for example, would be set to carry 1lb more than a horse rated 99 (ignoring any penalties or allowances) The ratings published in the racecard for handicap races are the ratings that were used to calculate the weight to be carried by each horse, whilst in nonhandicaps races the rating shown is that of each runner at the time that the entries for the race were confirmed Any subsequently published change to a rating, either up or down, is shown in brackets following the rating For novice steeple chasers, the latest hurdle race rating may be shown until such time as the Handicappers allot a separate steeple chase rating Such ratings are prefixed by the letter h.

HULLNBACK laid a superb platform for hurdling in bumpers last term, and on the back of a wind op, he’s taken to strike on reappearance for his in-form yard. There’s plenty of depth to this, with Pikar setting a good standard having been pitched into graded company last season, while Timeforatune is a multiple-bumper winner to take seriously, too.

None of these can be ruled out but RIDGEWAY made an excellent start in this sphere when scoring readily at Kempton and can defy a 7lb penalty. Fencing-newcomer Ballybreeze appeals as a good sort and should ensure Dan Skelton’s 5-y-o doesn’t have things all his own way, while Mascat, All Dancer and Mister Marbles shouldn’t be underestimated either in what promises to be an informative handicap chase

A few in with a squeak but SONIGINO had a bit up his sleeve when making a winning reappearance over C&D earlier this month, and with a race-fitness edge over most of his rivals, Paul Nicholls’ charge gets the verdict to follow up. Playful Saint defied an absence of over 3 years on handicap/yard debut at Wetherby in March so he may emerge the main danger if ready to roll, ahead of MackThe Man, who has a good record fresh so has to be considered
