WELCOME TO DONCASTER RACECOURSE

Hello and welcome to Doncaster Racecourse. We are delighted you’ve joined us here today to enjoy some afternoon flat racing!

We have a division today so there are 8 races on the card and our raceday presenter Bobby Beevers and resident tipster Roger Hart will be in the Parade Ring at around 1:05pm to run through the racecard with you and hopefully pick you out some winners!

We have some great racing and live music lined up for you this summer!

You are cordially invited to the Coronation Race Evening on Saturday 6th May, when we’ll be celebrating all things Royal and British in commemoration of the coronation of King Charles III. As well as enjoying the ‘Sport of Kings’, there’ll be a Best-Dressed King or Queen competition and a ‘Right Royal Disco’ in the Exhibition Hall after racing. Have your photo taken on our ‘Royal Balcony’ with members of the Royal Family, and make sure you collect your limited-edition Coronation Pin as a little keepsake of this historic occasion

The Weston Park Cancer Charity Race Evening proudly sponsored by Ant is on Friday 2nd June. For one in two of us, cancer changes everything – directly or indirectly When it does, Weston Park Cancer Charity is there every step of the way. By joining Weston Park Cancer Charity at their Annual Race Evening, you will help them to continue to deliver services, advice, therapies and support, helping everyone affected to live with and beyond cancer. Come and support this great charity and enjoy The Platinum Party Band who will be performing in the Exhibition Hall after racing

We have three Rock at the Races fixtures for you in 2023! Derby Day Rocks on Saturday 3rd June featuring Magic Queen, Abba Party Night featuring Abba Arrival on Saturday 22nd July and our Unison Rock at the Races Raceday featuring Oasish on Saturday 5th August! Come and ‘rock out’ to all your favourite hits after enjoying a packed 7-race card!

Live After Racing returns this year with Clean Bandit on Saturday 1st July and Hacienda

Classical on Saturday 19th August Two great acts and two brilliant days of racing, music and dancing!

On Sunday 18th June, come and meet your favourite Superheroes at our popular Family Fun Day. As always, there’ll be an abundance of FREE entertainment for the kids including a kid’s disco, face painting, colouring and Shetland Pony Racing! It’s also Father’s Day so why not treat dad to a great day out at the races!

Our flagship fixture - the Cazoo St Leger Festival takes place 14th – 17th September and this year sees the first Sunday fixture – with Cazoo St Leger Legends taking place on Sunday 17th.

Tickets for all our upcoming racedays are available now at www.doncaster-racecourse.co.uk.

TIMEFORMVIEWImpressive when scoring by a wide margin on his debut at Nottingham and had no trouble following up in 10.2f novice at Newcastle. Took form to another level when narrow winner of Queen’s Vase at Royal Ascot. Not disgraced back down in trip when fourth in Grand Prix de Paris and this test will suit.

Star Ratings Explained

Each horse has been given a star rating, these are defined below:

HHHHH Selected to win the race.

HHHHI Good chance of being placed.

HHHII By no means out of the reckoning but at least one or two hold stronger claims

HHIII Unlikely to win but not totally without hope.

HIIII Can be given little or no chance.

OFFICIAL BHA RATINGS EXPLAINED

The BHA Handicappers allot ratings to horses once they have taken part in a sufficient number of races to enable the Handicappers to make a numerical assessment of each horse’s ability.

The principal purpose of the ratings is to determine the weight to be carried by each runner in handicap races, with the Handicappers aiming to provide each participant with an equal chance based on its best recent form under its optimum conditions A horse rated 100, for example, would be set to carry 1lb more than a horse rated 99 (ignoring any penalties or allowances).

The ratings published in the racecard for handicap races are the ratings that were used to calculate the weight to be carried by each horse, whilst in non-handicaps races the rating shown is that of each runner at the time that the entries for the race were confirmed Any subsequently published change to a rating, either up or down, is shown in brackets following the rating.

HORSE WELFARE COMES FIRST AT DONCASTER

At every race meeting at Doncaster our top priority is the safety and welfare of both horse and rider We have a dedicated team of highly qualified vets and doctors following the action at all times and a horse ambulance in attendance at every meeting.

Use of Screens

It is our policy to erect green screens around any horse requiring veterinary attention. This does NOT reflect the severity of any injury, but does help to provide a calm environment, in which the vet is better able to treat the horse.

Please do not assume the worst if you see screens erected around a fallen horse!
