formguide-previous performances /=new season -=new year
Looked smart when winning both 2-y-o starts. Encouraging return in the Dante and took his form to a whole new level in a well-run race when a decisive winner of the Great Voltigeur Stakes at York. This is the best form on offer and this trip may well unlock more. TFRHHHHH BHA115
Each horse has been given a star rating, these are defined below: HHHHH Selected to win the race.
HHHHI Good chance of being placed.
HHHII By no means out of the reckoning but at least one or two hold stronger claims
HHIII Unlikely to win but not totally without hope.
HIIII Can be given little or no chance.
OFFICIAL BHA RATINGS EXPLAINED
The BHA Handicappers allot ratings to horses once they have taken part in a sufficient number of races to enable the Handicappers to make a numerical assessment of each horse’s ability.
The principal purpose of the ratings is to determine the weight to be carried by each runner in handicap races, with the Handicappers aiming to provide each participant with an equal chance based on its best recent form under its optimum conditions A horse rated 100, for example, would be set to carry 1lb more than a horse rated 99 (ignoring any penalties or allowances).
The ratings published in the racecard for handicap races are the ratings that were used to calculate the weight to be carried by each horse, whilst in non-handicaps races the rating shown is that of each runner at the time that the entries for the race were confirmed Any subsequently published change to a rating, either up or down, is shown in brackets following the rating.

WEIGHTWATCHER: SNASH won off a handicap mark of 87, his rating is now down 20lb to 67.
LONGEST TRAVELLER: BRINDLEY trained by J Channon, West Ilsley, 163 miles.
BRINDLEY is less exposed than the majority of these and took his form up a notch on just his second handicap start when runner-up at Newbury so looks the way to go Onemorenomore heads the list of dangers on the back of his good Yarmouth fourth, with in-form duo Thapa Vc and Showtime Mahomes also well in the mix.

The Matt Hampson Foundation inspires and supports young people seriously injured through sporting activity.
The Foundation was created by Matt Hampson who experienced a life-changing injury during an England Under-21 rugby training session which left him paralysed from the neck down and breathing via a ventilator aged just 20 Coming to terms with his injuries, Matt chose to focus on what he could do rather than what he could not and to ‘get busy living’ which became the ethos of the Foundation.
Its unique Get Busy Living Centre provides expert physiotherapy, specialist personal training, mentoring, wellbeing and emotional support after life-changing injury, helping beneficiaries to ‘get busy living’ again, whether back into work, education or sport, or assisting in their adjustment to a new life.
Grand National-winning jockey Graham Lee and his family have become part of the Foundation family as regular visitors to the
Centre in the East Midlands, staying in our accommodation lodges and using the rehabilitation services as well as building friendships with others on a similar journey.
The Foundation supports people from all over the country and in 2023 added a first regional hub in Newcastle to take support closer to those who need it.
To help us to help others, take a look at our silent auction using the QR code below. Together, we can create opportunities for beneficiaries to thrive, regardless of the challenges they face.
