Don’t miss the Line Dancing Classes on the Champagne Lawn before racing You’ll be scootin’, scuffin’, slidin’ and stompin’ to all your favourite country hits Then dance the night away to the UK’s No 1 Nashville experience! STEWARDS OF THE MEETING
SIMON CONNAWAY (Chief Steward), PETA EVETTS (Stewards’ Panel Chair),
Looked smart when winning both 2-y-o starts. Encouraging return in the Dante and took his form to a whole new level in a well-run race when a decisive winner of the Great Voltigeur Stakes at York. This is the best form on offer and this trip may well unlock more. TFRHHHHH BHA115
Each horse has been given a star rating, these are defined below: HHHHH Selected to win the race.
HHHHI Good chance of being placed.
HHHII By no means out of the reckoning but at least one or two hold stronger claims
HHIII Unlikely to win but not totally without hope.
HIIII Can be given little or no chance.
OFFICIAL BHA RATINGS EXPLAINED
The BHA Handicappers allot ratings to horses once they have taken part in a sufficient number of races to enable the Handicappers to make a numerical assessment of each horse’s ability.
The principal purpose of the ratings is to determine the weight to be carried by each runner in handicap races, with the Handicappers aiming to provide each participant with an equal chance based on its best recent form under its optimum conditions A horse rated 100, for example, would be set to carry 1lb more than a horse rated 99 (ignoring any penalties or allowances).
The ratings published in the racecard for handicap races are the ratings that were used to calculate the weight to be carried by each horse, whilst in non-handicaps races the rating shown is that of each runner at the time that the entries for the race were confirmed Any subsequently published change to a rating, either up or down, is shown in brackets following the rating.

Use of Screens
It is our policy to erect green screens around any horse requiring veterinary attention. This does NOT reflect the severity of any injury, but does help to provide a calm environment, in which the vet is better able to treat the horse.

WEIGHTWATCHER: ANOTHER BAAR won off a handicap mark of 78, his rating is now down 11lb to 67. LONGEST TRAVELLER: ULTRAMARINE trained by D Evans, Abergavenny, 171 miles.
THE RIDLER signalled he is ready to strike again when a good recent third at Newmarket so earns the vote off a 1lb lower mark here. Golden Duke should be all the better for his Carlisle reappearance so could play a part now off a lenient mark. Sparkling Red appeals as the pick of the rest for minor honours
