B m Brian Boru - Cresswell Willow (IRE) Harry Reed

Mr P. J. Woolley Debra Hamer, Carmarthen

Br R. B. Mckay Tote

TIMEFORM VIEWMade a winning chasing debut over C&D last summer and generally held form well in defeat after. Now only 2lb above last winning mark and has the benefit of a recent spin over hurdles under her belt, so makes plenty of appeal back chasing Engaged 3.00 Newton Abbot Wednesday. TFRHHHHH BHA84

7 TOM O’ROUGHLEY (IRE) (26) 46514-1 D 8 10-12

B g Yeats (IRE) - Thegoodwans Sister (IRE) Lorcan Murtagh

Oaktree Racing Club Sheila Lewis, Brecon

Br Larry Mealiffe

TIMEFORMVIEWScored from out of the weights at Worcester in September and doubled his chase tally on return from a break at Warwick (24f, good to soft) 26 days ago. Didn’t look the most straightforward there, though, and 6lb rise may prove his undoing TFRHHHII BHA82

TIMEFORM VIEW Sprang a surprise at Uttoxeter last spring but offered little in 3 subsequent outings later in the year and has bit to prove now on return from 7 months off. TFRHHHII BHA75

TIMEFORM VIEW Remains a maiden after 25 NH runs and hasn’t appeared to have returned in any sort of form this year Visor goes on but looks tricky to fancy from out of weights. TFRHHIII BHA69

SEVENTH RACE 5.05

TWO MILES ABOUT FOUR FURLONGS (2M 4F) FOR FOUR YRS OLD AND UPWARDS

THE VICKERS BET HANDICAP HURDLE RACE (CLASS 5)

Total prize fund £6450 x Owners Prize Money. 1st £2605, 2nd £1302, 3rd £651, 4th £326, 5th £163. (Penalty Value £3406.24) Weights raised 1lb and paragraph 34 of the Weights and Handicapping Code complied with where applicable.

LEADING COURSE TRAINER (17-22): P Bowen (36 wins from 249 runners, 14%) runs TWILIGHT PRINCE TRAINER-IN-FORM (LAST 14 DAYS): P Bowen (4 wins from 13 runners, 31%) runs TWILIGHT PRINCE WEIGHTWATCHER: ROCK THE HOUSE won off a handicap mark of 104, his rating is now down 5lb to 99. LONGEST TRAVELLER: ALRAMZ trained by S Gardner, Longdown, 170 miles.

While PRISON BREAK clearly comes with risks attached on the back of a string of lifeless efforts, he’s not in the minority in that respect and it could be worth taking a chance on Tim Vaughan’s charge off a mark 4lb lower than when winning this race last year. It wouldn’t be a huge surprise were Twilight Prince to step up on his low-key novice form now pitched into a handicap and he is next on the list ahead of recent C&D winner Rock The House and Cumhacht.

Mike Harris Racing Club Katy Price, Llanigon

Br James Browne Tote

TIMEFORM VIEW Opened account for current connections when getting on top close home over C&D (good) 12 days ago. In-and-out profile means that he’s far from certain to back that up but, with recent winning form at a premium, he has to be feared up 3lb. TFRHHHII BHA99

B g Muhaarar - World Class Alan Johns

The Pant Wilkin Partnership

Tim Vaughan, Cowbridge

Br Deerfield Farm Dragonbet, Tote

TIMEFORM VIEWOut of sorts since Hereford fourth in November and the addition of cheekpieces (retained) failed to spark a return to form at Uttoxeter last time On the upside, he landed this race off a 4lb higher mark 12 months ago, so the ability is certainly there if he is able to turn things around TFRHHHHH BHA94

TIMEFORM VIEWJust denied in bumper at Thurles for John Kiely last spring Disappointing in that sphere for this yard but has shown ability all 3 starts over hurdles, including on recent handicap debut here (15.8f, good to firm), and possibilities if improving for this step up in trip TFRHHHII BHA92

4 TWILIGHT PRINCE (GB) (17) 0-46

B g Twilight Son - Honour

Mrs Lowri Williams

Br Cheveley Park Stud Limited

5 10-13

Sean Bowen

Peter Bowen, Haverfordwest

TIMEFORM VIEWRegressive maiden on the Flat and there have been very few positives to take from his efforts in novice events here since switched to hurdles. Still, makes handicap debut in this sphere in a winnable race and it’ll be worth noting if the market speaks in his favour TFRHHHHI BHA84

Br Shadwell Estate Company Limited Woodhayes Stud

TIMEFORMVIEWOn a good mark based on 2021 exploits and he was placed on a few occasions last year However, he ran modestly at Taunton when last seen in December and returns from a break here with a bit to prove TFRHHIII BHA83

B g Soldier of Fortune (IRE) - Derrigra Sublime (IRE) Jack Tudor

TIMEFORM VIEW Offered little in a bumper/trio of maiden hurdles last year, and again went with little encouragement on last month’s return/handicap debut at Plumpton. TFRHIIII BHA75

TIMEFORM VIEW Five-race maiden who wasn’t completely disgraced from a long way out of the weights over C&D last month. There wasn’t enough in that effort so suggest she will be up to winning this, though, unless the first-time cheekpieces work the oracle TFRHHIII BHA71

TIMEFORM VIEW Won over hurdles at Uttoxeter last summer and ran to similar level when third in Taunton handicap chase in November However, his efforts since returning from a break in April have lacked spark. TFRHHIII BHA69
