If an incident occurs which is beyond our control, it is important that you are aware of how we intend to look after you in the event of an emergency.
As part of our Safety management, we have employed professionally trained and experienced stewards and you will see them at various points throughout the racecourse. In the event of a situation, which requires partial or full evacuation of the stands or racecourse, announcements will be broadcast and stewards will undertake the responsibility of ushering you to a place of safety; it is essential that you follow their instructions. Please take your immediate belongings with you and proceed out of the area quickly and calmly with the guidance of the stewards The evacuation procedures have been carefully planned to lead you to a safe area Should it be necessary to evacuate the course itself, there will be two main options; firstly to return to your vehicles if safe to do so and leave via the main entrance Secondly, should it not be safe to return to your vehicles, you will be requested to leave via emergency evacuation gates, onto the racecourse itself, where you will receive further instructions. It may give you peace of mind if you pre plan and agree a meeting place, just in case you become separated from your party. The above is precautionary only and we trust that the procedures will never be required. However, in the event of an emergency, remember;
• Take your belongings with you.
• Under the directions of the stewards, proceed quickly and calmly to the safe area

Star Ratings Explained
Each horse has been given a star rating, these are defined below: S Br
HHHHH Selected to win the race
HHHHI Good chance of being placed
HHHII By no means out of the reckoning but at least one or two hold stronger claims
HHIII Unlikely to win but not totally without hope
HIIII Can be given little or no chance.
OFFICIAL BHA RATINGS EXPLAINED
The BHA Handicappers allot ratings to horses once they have taken part in a sufficient number of races to enable the Handicappers to make a numerical assessment of each horse’s ability. The principal purpose of the ratings is to determine the weight to be carried by each runner in handicap races, with the Handicappers aiming to provide each participant with an equal chance based on its best recent form under its optimum conditions
A horse rated 100, for example, would be set to carry 1lb more than a horse rated 99 (ignoring any penalties or allowances). The ratings published in the racecard for handicap races are the ratings that were used to calculate the weight to be carried by each horse, whilst in nonhandicaps races the rating shown is that of each runner at the time that the entries for the race were confirmed Any subsequently published change to a rating, either up or down, is shown in brackets following the rating For novice steeple chasers, the latest hurdle race rating may be shown until such time as the Handicappers allot a separate steeple chase rating Such ratings are prefixed by the letter h.

A tight-knit handicap in which marginal preference is for George Boughey’s consistent BOLDLY who is taken to gain a deserved first success at the chief expense of in-form Eagle One Atalanta Breeze can also have a say now her stamina is unlocked more. Taritino completes the shortlist.

CHRISTINE BIELBY MEMORIAL RACE
Of the many racecourses my wife, Christine (Chris) Bielby attended, throughout the country, the one she loved the most was Ffos Las. She was at the first meeting in 2009, took the opening ceremony photographs, and it was the last racecourse she visited before being taken ill. She always used to say to me, “Going to Ffos Las is like coming home, everybody is so friendly and welcoming.” So, it seems only right that a memorial race in her name should be held here, at Ffos Las, a racecourse she loved so much.”

Total prize fund £5700 x Owners Prize Money. 1st £2354, 2nd £1177, 3rd £588, 4th £294, 5th £147. (Penalty Value £2983.38) SS
LEADING COURSE TRAINER (19-24): W Muir & C Grassick (9 wins from 38 runners, 24%) runs FOREVER A DIAMOND TRAINER-IN-FORM (LAST 14 DAYS): C Cox (4 wins from 28 runners, 14%) runs SPIRIT OF THE ROSE
WEIGHTWATCHER: OVERNIGHT OATS won off a handicap mark of 70, his rating is now down 7lb to 63. LONGEST TRAVELLER: LADY AVA trained by E Dunlop, Newmarket, 271 miles.
The finish may be dominated by 3-y-o fillies SPIRIT OF THE ROSE and Forever A Diamond, with preference for Clive Cox’s charge who is 0-5 but she was just touched off at Haydock last time and a deserved first taste of success is on the cards. Forever A Diamond is now 1lb below her last winning mark and is feared greatly with conditions likely to be in her favour (good form on fast ground in 2023). Port Noir is taken to claim minor prize money ahead of Monsieur Patat.
