HHIII Unlikelytowin butnot totallywithout hope
HIIII Canbegiven little or no chance
The BHA Handicappers allot ratings to horses once they have taken part in a sufficient number of races to enable the Handicappers to make a numerical assessment of each horse’s ability
The principal purpose of the ratings is to determine the weight to be carried by each runner in handicap races, with the Handicappers aiming to provide each participant with an equal chance based on its best recent form under its optimum conditions A horse rated 100, for example, would be set to carry 1lb more than a horse rated 99 (ignoring any penalties or allowances).
The ratings published in the racecard for handicap races are the ratings that were used to calculate the weight to be carried by each horse, whilst in non-handicaps races the rating shown is that of each runner at the time that the entries for the race were confirmed Any subsequently published change to a rating, either up or down, is shown in brackets following the rating.

It could be worth chancing UP THE STRAIGHT, who took a step back in the right direction when third at Kempton in May and he ran well on his return in this last year off a higher mark. Sacre Coeur is potentially well treated back in this sphere so rates the main threat on only her third start for Dan Skelton.

The market should prove a useful guide in relation to the hurdles debutants but COSMIC VIEW (a fair maiden on the Flat) starts out for a yard that do particularly well in this sphere and he shades the vote without the benefit of market clues. Logistical has an experience edge over most and he, along with David Pipe’s Makanao head up the dangers

RACE STATS RACE SUMMARY
GAMBIE TIEP proved that he can cope with races in quick succession when scoring twice over hurdles within the space of five days in July, and the 7-y-o will prove hard to beat if allowed to take his chance here on the back of a decisive display at Bangor on Wednesday. Impression Chic is an interesting option for forecast purposes, given that she may well step up on her hurdling exploits now switched to fences Princess Midnight and Gone In Sixty should both have parts to play, too.
