For those wishing to enter the Style Awards judging will take place in the Winner’s Enclosure after the third race for the best dressed lady and best dressed couple so please make yourselves available there and then! There is £500 cash to the winner so it is definitely worth entering. We are very proud to be hosting Hereford PRIDE on Saturday 18th June for the first time at Hereford Racecourse. This is an annual event promoting social and self-acceptance, achievements, legal rights, and pride with a celebration of musical and performing excellence on the day. Visit www.herefordpride.org to find out more. I would like to thank all of today’s sponsors for their generous support and extend a particularly warm welcome to Boo La Croux Miss Drag UK who has been instrumental in Hereford PRIDE coming to Hereford Racecourse. It is hard to believe that today is the penultimate fixture of our season, and we look forward to Dino Family Fun Raceday on Sunday 3rd April to bring the curtain down. It promises to be a raceday like no other and to find out more and book your place please visit www.hereford-racecourse.co.uk It will also bring to a close the 2021/2022 Royal Equestrian Bedding Frequent Runner Championship and thanks go to them for their significant support throughout the season. Amongst the prizes is £1,000 cash to stablestaff for one of the leading yards. We cannot let today pass without acknowledging the exceptional performance of Herefordshire based Venetia Williams’ runners at the Cheltenham Festival which included two winners in L’Homme Presse and Chambard, and multiple placings. Congratulations also to Trainers Evan Williams, Alan King and Ben Pauling who all enjoyed Cheltenham winners and have horses Declared today. Enjoy Ladies Day and I hope you back a couple of winners too!

Star Ratings Explained Each horse has been given a star rating, these are defined below: Selected to win the race. Good chance of being placed. By no means out of the reckoning but at least one or two hold stronger claims
hope.
Unlikely to win but not totally without Can be given little or no chance.
OFFICIAL BHA RATINGS EXPLAINED The BHA Handicappers allot ratings to horses once they have taken part in a sufficient number of races to enable the Handicappers to make a numerical assessment of each horse’s ability. The principal purpose of the ratings is to determine the weight to be carried by each runner in handicap races, with the Handicappers aiming to provide each participant with an equal chance based on its best recent form under its optimum conditions. A horse rated 100, for example, would be set to carry 1lb more than a horse rated 99 (ignoring any penalties or allowances). The ratings published in the racecard for handicap races are the ratings that were used to calculate the weight to be carried by each horse, whilst in nonhandicaps races the rating shown is that of each runner at the time that the entries for the race were confirmed. Any subsequently published change to a rating, either up or down, is shown in brackets following the rating. for novice steeple chasers, the latest hurdle race rating may be shown until such time as the Handicappers allot a separate steeple chase rating. Such ratings are prefixed by the letter h.

RACE SUMMARY This is a thin mares’ handicap with clear preference for BARDEN BELLA, who split a pair of next-time-out winners at Chepstow and must go close under her 7lb conditional. Jerminnie Green shaped better than the result over longer trips on her last 2 starts and is considered, whilst Kiera Royale enjoyed a good spell earlier in the season and should be closer to form back chasing. 1-2-3: 1.BARDEN BELLA (IRE) 2.JERMINNIE GREEN (IRE) 3.KIERA ROYALE (IRE) KEY colours
