WELCOME & MEET THE TEAM

WELCOME We are delighted to welcome you to the Winter Million Festival, now in its third year at Lingfield Park. There will be plenty of action both on and off the track this afternoon, with seven All-Weather Flat races and a variety of entertainment to enjoy alongside. Our feature race of the card is the £100,000 BetMGM Winter Oaks, run over one mile and 2 furlongs. The final declarations include some topclass performers, including the Trials winner Oh So Grand for Simon and Ed Crisford, looking for a repeat of the duo’s Trials-Oaks double in 2023. Off the track, we hope you take advantage of all the entertainment on offer throughout the afternoon. In the Courtyard you will find live music from both The Cracklin’ Griffins and our house DJ, as well as our exclusive Winter Million cocktail ‘A Gin in a Million’. If you have come as a family, on the Hotel Lawn you will find funfair rides and pony rides for the kids, all free of charge. Don’t miss out and save big on lunch as from 1:30pm-2:30pm we are running a Fish & Chips happy hour. Grab yourself a bargain and enjoy a fish & chip meal and a drink for just £9 from the Fish & Chip shop, opposite the pre-parade ring. Our thanks must go to the connections of all of this afternoon’s runners including the owners, trainers and racing staff for supporting the Winter Million Festival. Equally, to our sponsors this afternoon, BetUK and BetMGM, and to our broadcasters Sky Sports Racing and ITV. The Winter Million Festival comes to a conclusion tomorrow with eight action-packed races featuring the Fitzdares Fleur de Lys Chase and the Grade 2 Download the Racing App Now Lightning Novices’ Chase. If you fancy joining us, visit our website to book your tickets from just £17. From all of the team at Lingfield Park, we would like to wish you the best for this afternoon, and hope you enjoy the action.

Horse & Jockey Welfare at Lingfield Park Nothing matters more to us when racing than the safety and welfare of both horse and rider. Central to that is the track itself and our groundstaff do everything in their power to provide an optimum racing surface. On duty today we also have a dedicated and experienced team of highly-qualified Vets, Doctors and Paramedics following the action at every stage. Their key responsibility is to monitor and provide care to the competitors throughout their time at the racecourse. The locations and vehicle movements of these skilled specialists during racing are designed to provide a rapid response to any incident across the site. We also have a high-specification horse ambulance in attendance at every fixture

to enable safe transport of a horse from the track to our on-site veterinary treatment facility for further treatment, or to the nearest equine referral hospital. It is our standard practice to erect screens around any horse or jockey requiring attention on the course as this provides privacy and a safe, calm environment in which to accurately diagnose and treat the patient as necessary. Please do not assume the worst if screens are erected around a horse. We are fully committed to minimizing risk in our sport, to dealing professionally and efficiently with any injury, and to maintaining the highest possible quality of care for the horses and jockeys racing here today. Star Ratings Explained

Each horse has been given a star rating, these are defined below: HHHHH Selected to win the race. claims HHHHI Good chance of being placed. HHIII Unlikely to win but not totally without hope. HHHII By no means out of the reckoning but HIIII Can be given little or no chance. at least one or two hold stronger

OFFICIAL BHA RATINGS EXPLAINED The BHA Handicappers allot ratings to horses once they have taken part in a sufficient number of races to enable the Handicappers to make a numerical assessment of each horse’s ability. The principal purpose of the ratings is to determine the weight to be carried by each runner in handicap races, with the Handicappers aiming to provide each participant with an equal chance based on its best recent form under its optimum conditions. A horse rated 100, for example, would be set to carry 1lb more than a horse rated 99 (ignoring any penalties or allowances). The ratings published in the racecard for handicap races are the ratings that were used to calculate the weight to be carried by each horse, whilst in non-handicaps races the rating shown is that of each runner at the time that the entries for the race were confirmed. Any subsequently published change to a rating, either up or down, is shown in brackets following the rating.

WHERE TO BET There are a variety of places to bet at the course; The Tote has selling points throughout the racecourse - easily identified by the Tote Betting or totepool signs. The bookmakers are located in front of the grandstand in the ‘Betting Ring’. The bookmakers display their odds for each race and compete to offer the best price to customers. These are fixed price bets and the amount of your winnings will be printed on your betting slip. Search around to get the best price for your selection. Minimum Stakes The Tote has a minimum bet of £2. The bookmakers vary but if they have a minimum it will be shown on the boards displaying their odds. If in doubt – just ask.

Never beaten by SP Tote or Starting Price? We’ll pay whichever is better on win bets.

We’ll always pay at least SP on Win bets and if the Tote dividend is greater, we’ll pay out at that price. Tote.co.uk, Tote.ie, Tote App and selected UK racecourse customers only. Promotion applies to Tote Win and win part of each way bets on all UK & Irish races. Staking limits apply. Full terms and conditions available at Tote.co.uk/promotions. 18+. BeGambleaware.org

Upped in trip after 7 months off, AMAZING made a winning return to action at Wolverhampton 25 days ago and she can follow up with further progress to come. The main danger could be Gearing’s Point, who enjoyed a productive campaign for her current yard last year, while dual course winner Raintown also merits consideration.

We also have a highspecification horse ambulance in attendance at every fixture to enable safe transport of a horse from the track to our on-site veterinary treatment facility for further treatment, or to the nearest equine referral hospital. To find out more about our Equine Welfare policy, please visit our website www.lingfieldpark.co.uk 25

Having come good on second start for the Kubler team at Wolverhampton in November, AL RUFAA went a long way to backing that up despite not being seen to best effect when third at Southwell later that month. Still very much one to be interested in from this sort of mark, he gets the nod for all his draw makes things a little tricky. Newcastle-eyecatcher Tropez Power, Kempton-scorer Talis Evolvere and Plantadream head up the dangers.
