WELCOME & MEET THE TEAM
WELCOME
Welcome to Lingfield Park Racecourse, where today we are proud to host the All-Weather Championships Vase Day, in it’s third year, on this Good Friday.
Lingfield Park remains integral to the All-Weather Championships, hosting over 30 All-Weather fixtures during Season 11. Today’s programme will feature 6 handicap races in the All-Weather Championships categories, as well as the popular apprentice race, which has been a feature of the Good Friday card for a number of years.
Our thanks must go to the connections of all of this afternoon’s runners including the owners, trainers and racing staff from both the UK and Ireland, as well as our sponsors of Season 11 of the All-Weather Championships; BetUK & BetMGM. Our congratulations goes out to the winners of this season’s All-Star Championships including Champion Jockey Rossa Ryan, Champion Apprentice Billy Loughnane and Champion Owner Godolphin. This year’s Champion Trainer goes down to the wire, with Mick Appleby, Charlie Johnston and Tony Carroll all in contention with further runners today.
Off the track, we hope you take advantage of the entertainment on offer throughout the afternoon On arrival and throughout the day, you can enjoy live music from Fully Funktional, Choir & Ko and the Oxted Festival. For the families, we have an array of kids’ entertainment including a funfair and pony rides on the Hotel Lawn, all free complimentary.
From all of the team at Lingfield Park, we would like to wish you the best for this afternoon, and we hope you enjoy your Good Friday at the races. Our next feature raceday is the Derby & Oaks Trial on Saturday 11th May, where Classic contenders and top-class jockeys will take to the track. We have an exciting summer ahead of us with the return of Lingfield Summer Sounds; 7 Saturday fixtures from June-September featuring epic horse racing action combined with live music and entertainment. We hope to see you there!

KEY Owner Breeding Breeder Jockey Trainer Sponsor Star Ratings Explained
Each horse has been given a star rating, these are defined below: S Br
HHHHH Selected to win the race.
HHHHI Good chance of being placed
HHHII By no means out of the reckoning but at least one or two hold stronger
claims
HHIII Unlikely to win but not totally without hope
HIIII Can be given little or no chance
OFFICIAL BHA RATINGS EXPLAINED
The BHA Handicappers allot ratings to horses once they have taken part in a sufficient number of races to enable the Handicappers to make a numerical assessment of each horse’s ability
The principal purpose of the ratings is to determine the weight to be carried by each runner in handicap races, with the Handicappers aiming to provide each participant with an equal chance based on its best recent form under its optimum conditions A horse rated 100, for example, would be set to carry 1lb more than a horse rated 99 (ignoring any penalties or allowances).
The ratings published in the racecard for handicap races are the ratings that were used to calculate the weight to be carried by each horse, whilst in non-handicaps races the rating shown is that of each runner at the time that the entries for the race were confirmed Any subsequently published change to a rating, either up or down, is shown in brackets following the rating
WHERE TO BET
The bookmakers are located in front of the grandstand in the ‘Betting Ring’. The bookmakers display their odds for each race and compete to offer the best price to customers. These are fixed price bets and the amount of your winnings will be printed on your betting slip. Search around to get the best price for your selection.
Minimum Stakes
The Tote has a minimum bet of £2. The bookmakers vary but if they have a minimum it will be shown on the boards displaying their odds. If in doubt – just ask.

AL RUFAA is always going to be something of a hostage to fortune given his keen-going style but he very much caught the eye when runner-up at Wolverhampton 6 weeks ago and is capable of winning off his current mark. This Season’s Horse of the Year competition has gone right down to the wire.
Artisan Dancer has shown remarkable consistency, racking up 50 points in 14 starts throughout the All-Weather season. Two victories and seven second-placed efforts helped the 4yo towards a three-point cushion at the top of the table heading into the final week.
It has been an extremely competitive AllWeather season which is reflected in the Horse of The Year standings with just one point separating second place The Craftymaster (47pts) from joint third-placed horses Enola Grey (46pts) and Mumayaz (46pts).
The rejuvenation of The Craftymaster has been one of the stories of this All-Weather season. The 4yo came close to retirement but has enjoyed a remarkable change in fortune since moving to the Tony Carroll yard back in October rising 24lbs in the handicap
The All-Weather Champion Trainer title
looks set to go down to the wire, with
Mick Appleby, Tony Carroll and Charlie Johnston all in contention heading
into the final day.
Perennial champion Appleby topped the leaderboard for the first time in early February but the excellent form of Carroll and Johnston has prevented the Rutland handler from closing out his eighth title.
Appleby and Johnston have runners at all three meetings of Good Friday, while Carroll is represented at Lingfield Park and Chelmsford.
