Central to that is the track itself and our groundstaff do everything in their power to provide an optimum racing surface On duty today we also have a dedicated and experienced team of highly-qualified Vets, Doctors and Paramedics following the action at every stage. KEY Owner Breeding Breeder Jockey Trainer Sponsor Star Ratings Explained
Each horse has been given a star rating, these are defined below:
HHHHH Selected to win the race.
HHHHI Good chance of being placed
HHHII By no means out of the reckoning but at least one or two hold stronger
claims
HHIII Unlikely to win but not totally without hope HIIII Can be given little or no chance
OFFICIAL BHA RATINGS EXPLAINED
The BHA Handicappers allot ratings to horses once they have taken part in a sufficient number of races to enable the Handicappers to make a numerical assessment of each horse’s ability
The principal purpose of the ratings is to determine the weight to be carried by each runner in handicap races, with the Handicappers aiming to provide each participant with an equal chance based on its best recent form under its optimum conditions A horse rated 100, for example, would be set to carry 1lb more than a horse rated 99 (ignoring any penalties or allowances).
The ratings published in the racecard for handicap races are the ratings that were used to calculate the weight to be carried by each horse, whilst in non-handicaps races the rating shown is that of each runner at the time that the entries for the race were confirmed Any subsequently published change to a rating, either up or down, is shown in brackets following the rating
WHERE TO BET
There are a variety of places to bet at the course; The Tote has selling points throughout the racecourse - easily identified by the Tote Betting or totepool signs
The bookmakers are located in front of the grandstand in the ‘Betting Ring’. The bookmakers display their odds for each race and compete to offer the best price to customers. These are fixed price bets and the amount of your winnings will be printed on your betting slip. Search around to get the best price for your selection.
Minimum Stakes
The Tote has a minimum bet of £2. The bookmakers vary but if they have a minimum it will be shown on the boards displaying their odds. If in doubt – just ask.

Supporting a 16-race maiden isn’t generally advisable but MARAYEL is an exception on the back of his eye-catching effort over a mile here a fortnight ago The combination of this drop in grade and step up in trip could be just the ticket. C&D winners Sunset In Paris and Forever Proud are feared most in that order of preference, but cases can also be made for Come On John and the selection’s stablemate Daphne May.

RACE SUMMARY
An interesting contest featuring a couple of late developers in Another Angel and Assassen for whom these conditions should suit, however they’re from a yard that tends to bring its runners on slowly. Hibikinanda Du Mazet look a likely type on pedigree and her stable remains in form, so warrants plenty of respect. However RICH PULLS PITCH has shaped well, if a little green on both starts and the winner of her last race put up a fine display to win again on Friday, whilst the other has been Group placed. On the basis of that form the addition of blinkers looks very positive and she should shed the maiden tag here.
