WELCOME & MEET THE TEAM

Welcome to Sedgefield Racecourse for 28th September Afternoon Racing. Welcome back to Sedgefield. We hope you notice a few improvements since you were last here, the newly refurbished parade ring, painted offices, stands and new fences, including a new location for the Open Ditch. It looks like an exciting afternoon of racing ahead. Gordon Elliot teams up with Sean Bowen, sending two runners, both with a lively chance. There are plenty of southern raiders to mention with Nigel Hawke, Milton Harris and Richard Spencer amongst them. Brian Ellison, one of Sedgefield’s leading trainers, returns with course and distance winner, Instant Replay, in the 4:45pm with talented claimer Oakley Brown on board. I would like to thank our sponsors this afternoon, thank you for returning to support us in what has been a crazy time for all. Our next race meeting is 6th Oct. Gates open 11:30am, 1st race 1:38pm. As always, I wish you all the very best in picking a few winners and I look forward to welcoming you back to Sedgefield Racecourse again soon. Enjoy and good luck. Emma White GENERAL MANAGER

COUNTISTER was outpointed by Do No Wrong over C&D last month, but she looked resurgent when striking at Kelso subsequently and it’s unlikely that a 9lb rise will be enough to stop her. Conversely, Do No Wrong misfired at Catterick since and now has a bit to prove. The Blame Game scored here last time and merits respect, but Just Call Me Al and Art of Diplomacy may emerge as the main dangers.
