Welcome to our 2024 Ladies Day and a very special welcome today to our sponsors, Brit Direct, Phill Hall, Alby, Malcolm Harrison Auctioneers, Quinnbet, Palletforce, Bodhi Solutions and Hoar Cross Hall
Thank you for joining us today for a fun filled, action packed 8 racecard that has had an impressive 101 horses declared for today’s races.
As ever, for ladies day, we will be running our very popular Style Awards which has been kindly sponsored by Hoar Cross Hall. The style awards has prizes for the top 5 outfits picked out by our judges. Head up to the flower wall near the office to enter for a chance to get your hands on one of our many prizes including the first prize worth over £1800.
After racing head down to the Grandstand to watch a 90 minute show from our entertainment this evening, a 90 minute DJ set by Roman Kemp. Roman will be playing some classic tunes to get you dancing and singing along and I’m sure it will be a fantastic show
Also keep an eye out for TV legend John Altman aka “Nasty Nick” who will be roaming around the racecourse for meet and greet opportunities and helping us raise funds for Burton Albion Community Trust.
We quickly turn around this fixture for our next meeting on Sunday which is our ever popular Burton Albion Family Funday. There will be lots of entertainment too for the family including a fairground, inflatables, crazy golf, puppet shows, penalty shoot outs and much more. With Children under 18 having free admission it really is a great value family day out.
All of us here at Uttoxeter Racecourse hope you have an enjoyable day and thank you for joining us today.

STAR RATINGS EXPLAINED
Each horse has been given a star rating, these are defined below:
ëëëëë Selected to win the race
ëëëëê Good chance of being placed
ëëëêê By no means out of the reckoning but at least one or two hold stronger claims.
ëëêêê Unlikely to win but not totally without hope
ëêêêê Can be given little or no chance
OFFICIAL BHA RATINGS EXPLAINED
The BHA Handicappers allot ratings to horses once they have taken part in a sufficient number of races to enable the Handicappers to make a numerical assessment of each horse’s ability The principal purpose of the ratings is to determine the weight to be carried by each runner in handicap races, with the Handicappers aiming to provide each participant with an equal chance based on its best recent form under its optimum conditions
A horse rated 100, for example, would be set to carry 1lb more than a horse rated 99 (ignoring any penalties or allowances) The ratings published in the racecard for handicap races are the ratings that were used to calculate the weight to be carried by each horse, whilst in non handicap races the rating shown is that of each runner at the time that the entries for the race were confirmed Any subsequently published change to a rating, either up or down, is shown in brackets following the rating. For novice steeple chasers, the latest hurdle race rating may be shown until such time as the Handicappers allot a separate steeple chase rating. Such ratings are prefixed by the letter h.
You may be asked to provide proof of your age when placing a bet
If you cannot produce this your bet will not be accepted
THANK YOU TO OUR SPONSORS
The Uttoxeter Racecourse Executive would like to thank our sponsors and wish them an enjoyable and prosperous day’s racing.

GUARD DUTY proved more settled in a first-time hood when running out a comfortable winner over C&D 17 days ago and, with the potential for further improvement, he’s taken to defy a penalty and confirm his superiority over Virtual Rock. Bowling Buddy is an interesting Rules debutant having joined Olly Murphy following an Irish point win in May and strong market support for him would need taking seriously.
