WELCOME As we head into the busiest spell of our summer programme, we are delighted to welcome you to one of the most enduring events of the season - Irish Night, featuring a live concert after racing from The Wild Murphys. The musical entertainment will take place on the lawn, which has become the favoured place for many of you to base yourselves during the evening. From here, you can also see the horses parading for their races, and enjoy a varied range of international street food and refreshing summer drinks. Guinness is likely to be a popular choice tonight! Last Monday the in-form jockey on the track was Rob Hornby, who rode a treble. Of the seven winning horses, four were based in Newmarket, one in Hampshire, and two made the long journey from Devon, proving that Monday evening racing at Windsor is popular with trainers all over the country. Today we feature another qualifier in the Fitzdares Sprint Series, which builds up to a valuable final here in August. Last week’s heat produced a typically close finish, with just over a length covering the first four finishers, and we are looking forward to a similarly exciting race today. Next Monday we stage our annual Ladies Evening, with post-racing music from Martin Kemp; followed by Gentleman’s Day featuring Sigala on the afternoon of Saturday 25 June, the opening day of our annual Royal Windsor Racecourse Festival. The second and third days of this three-day extravaganza will also have a musical theme as we present a Summer Sounds raceday on the Sunday afternoon and the Prosecco Party Race Night on the Monday. Further information is available on our website, windsor-racecourse. co.uk, along with booking details and suggested meal packages including the option of a delicious three-course meal with a panoramic view of the action in the 1866 Restaurant. I do hope you enjoy your time at the races tonight and that you’ll be able to join us again soon. Best Wishes, Liam Johnson Executive Director

STAR RATINGS EXPLAINED Each horse has been given a star rating, these are defined below: HHHHH Selected to win the race. HHHHI Good chance of being placed. HHHII By no means out of the reckoning but at least one or two hold stronger claims HHIII Unlikely to win but not totally without hope. HIIII Can be given little or no chance.
ABBREVIATIONS BF - Beaten Favourite C - Course winner D - Distance winner CD - Course & Distance winner
OFFICIAL BHA RATINGS EXPLAINED The BHA Handicappers allot ratings to horses once they have taken part in a sufficient number of races to enable the Handicappers to make a numerical assessment of each horse’s ability. The principal purpose of the ratings is to determine the weight to be carried by each runner in handicap races, with the Handicappers aiming to provide each participant with an equal chance based on its best recent orm under its optimum conditions. A horse rated 100, for example, would be set to carry 1lb more than a horse rated 99 (ignoring any penalties or allowances). The ratings published in the racecard for handicap races are the ratings that were used to calculate the weight to be carried by each horse, whilst in non-handicaps races the rating shown is that of each runner at the time that the entries for the race were confirmed. Any subsequently published change to a rating, either up or down, is shown in brackets following the rating.

RACE SUMMARY A competitive race with some interesting newcomers making their debuts. Awtaar showed up well here last month and is respected, however she’s had plenty of chances and Hollie Doyle has been booked for Mayfair. That one catches the eye off a light weight, however Lujain is a similar proposition, makes greater appeal on pedigree and comes from a stable with a strong hand here. Kafou Athbah is sure to be sharper today, but it’s hard to dismiss EKLEEL ATHBAH who has showed a good level of form in her two starts to date and can use this to progress to better things.

The Windsor novice RADUCANU finished third in on debut worked out very well, and while she was a bit disappointing back there a fortnight ago, blinkers may well help her travel with a bit more zest this time. She could be the answer to an open-looking race, with Grace Angel and Confederation possible dangers, while any money for a newcomer should be noted. 1-2-3: 1.RADUCANU 2.GRACE ANGEL 3.CONFEDERATION KEY Owner colours

A fascinating feature sprint handicap that can go to KIT GABRIEL. Amy Murphy’s charge returned with a creditable fifth in a big-field event at Ascot last month, and with that outing expected to have blown away any cobwebs, he’s fancied to notch a second career success with the cheekpieces back on. Cairn Gorm can give him most to think about on first start for his flourishing new yard, with the in-form Asad completing the shortlist.

This looks ripe for TATHBEET, who is bred to be useful and shaped with plenty of encouragement when fourth on his introduction at Leicester three weeks ago. He’ll be sharper now and promises to be suited by this stiffer test. Hexameter and Storm Castle are both open to improvement too, and feared most in that order of preference. Newcomers Noble Run and Oriole need close attention in the betting.
