WELCOME Dear All, Following on from Ladies Evening last Monday, we now welcome you to the first day of our annual three-day Festival - Gentleman’s Day, with the chart-topping Sigala providing the musical entertainment after the racing. Having had eight UK Top 10 singles, and a Brit Award nomination for Best Single, “Lullaby”, which was one of the most played tracks on UK radio in 2018, Sigala is bound to be box-office gold this afternoon. Make sure you’ve found a comfortable place on the lawn as soon as the last race has finished! Today also features one of the best race programmes in the Windsor calendar, highlighted by the Midsummer Stakes over a mile, which has attracted a classy entry with many of the country’s top stables represented. Backed up by two valuable handicaps and a hot race for two-year-old fillies, it looks sure to enhance its reputation as one of our top races of the season. Tomorrow afternoon the racing returns with another musical theme which we are calling Summer Sounds - a perfect midsummer combination of live music and exciting action on the track. Join us again on Monday evening for the final day of the Festival - the Prosecco Party Race Night with the UK’s number 1 Pink tribute artist, Vicky Jackson, performing on the lawn after racing. A multitude of packages are available for all our race meetings in 2022, which can be viewed on our website www.windsor-racecourse.co.uk. There are discounts for early booking and parties of four, and you can choose from a number of attractive meal options including a quality three-course meal and panoramic view of the racecourse in the 1866 Restaurant. There’s always a lively atmosphere on Gentleman’s Day and this year should be no exception. I do hope you enjoy a fun and successful afternoon at Royal Windsor today.
Best Wishes, Liam Johnson Executive Director

STAR RATINGS EXPLAINED Each horse has been given a star rating, these are defined below: HHHHH Selected to win the race. HHHHI Good chance of being placed. OFFICIAL BHA RATINGS EXPLAINED The BHA Handicappers allot ratings to horses once they have taken part in a sufficient number of races to enable the Handicappers to make a numerical assessment of each horse’s ability. The principal purpose of the ratings is to determine the weight to be carried by each runner in handicap races, with the Handicappers aiming to provide each participant with an equal chance based on its best recent orm under its optimum conditions. A horse rated 100, for example, would be set to carry 1lb more than a horse rated 99 (ignoring any penalties or allowances). The ratings published in the racecard for handicap races are the ratings that were used to calculate the weight to be carried by each horse, whilst in non-handicaps races the rating shown is that of each runner at the time that the entries for the race were confirmed. Any subsequently published change to a rating, either up or down, is shown in brackets following the rating.
