WELCOME
Dear All,
Welcome to Royal Windsor racecourse as we celebrate, along with the rest of the nation, the coronation of King Charles III Today is a special one-off Bank Holiday to honour a rare landmark in the history of the United Kingdom.
Our racecourse is situated less than two miles from Windsor Castle and we enjoy a close association with the royal town. As we reach the conclusion of this momentous weekend, marking the crowning of a new monarch, we look forward to the King’s family continuing its longstanding and successful relationship with the sport of horse racing.
We are delighted that you, along with thousands of others, have decided to take us up on the offer of a free night at the races as part of the celebrations. This may be our first evening race meeting of the year but from now on we will again prove that Royal Windsor is the“Home of Monday Night Racing”.
As ever, music will play an essential part in our summer programme with a series of themed fixtures, from Acoustic and Prosecco on 5 June to Soul and Motown on 14 August. Between those dates there will be a varied array of musical styles including a new one - Rocketman at the Races, with a distinct Elton John flavour, on 7 August
All of our fixtures, including the traditional midsummer festival from 1-3 July, may be viewed on our website windsor-racecouse.co.uk Bookings can be made online, with savings for early customers. Reservations for the panoramic 1866 Restaurant and transport by riverboat from the town centre may be arranged at the same time
On this very special day, we invite you to join us in the party spirit for the racing tonight. We hope that you will experience good fortune in finding the winners of the races and that you will be able to return to Royal Windsor for our remaining events during the summer of 2023.
Best Wishes
Liam Johnson Executive DirectorColour Graphic

OFFICIAL BHA RATINGS EXPLAINED
The BHA Handicappers allot ratings to horses once they have taken part in a sufficient number of races to enable the Handicappers to make a numerical assessment of each horse’s ability.
The principal purpose of the ratings is to determine the weight to be carried by each runner in handicap races, with the Handicappers aiming to provide each participant with an equal chance based on its best recent orm under its optimum conditions. A horse rated 100, for example, would be set to carry 1lb more than a horse rated 99 (ignoring any penalties or allowances).
The ratings published in the racecard for handicap races are the ratings that were used to calculate the weight to be carried by each horse, whilst in non-handicaps races the rating shown is that of each runner at the time that the entries for the race were confirmed Any subsequently published change to a rating, either up or down, is shown in brackets following the rating.

RACE STATS RACE SUMMARY
The vote goes to DESTINY’S SPIRIT, who progressed nicely during the second half of her 2-y-o campaign and there wasn’t a great deal wrong with her reappearance fourth at Nottingham where she was beaten by three in-form, race-fit rivals Though disappointing in a Yarmouth nursery when last seen, Alpine Girl can be given another chance and she is next on the list ahead of handicap debutant Lynwood Lad

If there’s confidence behind newcomer PALMAR BAY in the betting, the hint should be taken. He ticks plenty of the right boxes on paper and represents a leading yard that has made a good start to the season. Revenue beat a next-time-out winner when scoring on his introduction at Bath and is the clear main danger, given that Macedonian King performed well below market expectations on his debut at Beverley andTears of A Clown needs to take a big step forward.
