WELCOME
Dear All,
This afternoon we bring you the Brainiac Family Funday - our second familyorientated meeting of the year, with a theme that will appeal to young scientists of all ages. Combined with a day of thrilling horse racing on the track, it’s a perfect way to spend a Bank Holiday at Royal Windsor
Between the races, amongst the white lab coats and crazy experiments, we invite you to visit the parade ring to inspect the chemical composition of the runners before they go out to race and then reach a considered scientific conclusion regarding their performances as you welcome them back into the winner’s enclosure afterwards.
Summer has finally arrived during the last week, and that means the start of our regular programme of Monday evening music concerts to accompany the racing. There’s a wide range of different styles to suit every taste, but we feel you’re sure to enjoy all of them!
We begin next Monday with Acoustic & Prosecco Night, followed by Irish Night on 12 June and‘90s Racenight a week later. In July and August you can enjoy all the colour of Rum n Reggae, Soul & Motown and Rocketman at the Races, with an Elton John flavour, and much more besides.
We are also delighted that international chart-toppers Sigma are again joining us for Gentlemen’s Day on the afternoon of Saturday 1 July This is the first day of our popular annual midsummer racing festival, which continues with another Family Funday featuring Blippi on the Sunday and concluding with Jazz & Funk in the traditional Monday evening slot.
Tickets and packages for all our future fixtures are available now on our website windsor-racecourse.co.uk. We hope you will be able to join us again soon as the summer of 2023 bursts into life with a programme of events to keep us entertained all the way through to October.
Best wishes

OFFICIAL BHA RATINGS EXPLAINED
The BHA Handicappers allot ratings to horses once they have taken part in a sufficient number of races to enable the Handicappers to make a numerical assessment of each horse’s ability.
The principal purpose of the ratings is to determine the weight to be carried by each runner in handicap races, with the Handicappers aiming to provide each participant with an equal chance based on its best recent orm under its optimum conditions. A horse rated 100, for example, would be set to carry 1lb more than a horse rated 99 (ignoring any penalties or allowances).
The ratings published in the racecard for handicap races are the ratings that were used to calculate the weight to be carried by each horse, whilst in non-handicaps races the rating shown is that of each runner at the time that the entries for the race were confirmed Any subsequently published change to a rating, either up or down, is shown in brackets following the rating.

MELEK ALREEH failed to build on his reappearance effort when tried on tapeta for the first time at Newcastle in March but he’s been eased 3lb since and is of strong interest returned to turf with conditions in his favour. Indeed, his Doncaster success last summer was gained on fast ground and the booking ofTom Marquand adds to his appeal Andaleep put in a good shift when third on return at Newbury and is feared most ahead of handicap-debutant Peace Man and Silver Gunn.
