WELCOME
Dear All,
This evening we are delighted to welcome you to‘90s Night, with a concert on the paddock lawn after racing to recreate that eclectic decade in music and fashion We are also hoping that the weather behaves itself after the torrential downpour that accompanied the first race a week ago!
Tonight’s racing highlight is the latest qualifier in the Fitzdares Sprint Series, which culminates in a £75,000 final on 7 August. In addition, there are competitive line-ups for another six furlong sprint, the charleskendall.com Handicap and the CL Partners 25 Year Handicap over a mile.
We are only a fortnight away from our annual midsummer festival, staged over three consecutive days, this year from 1-3 July We open on Saturday afternoon with Gentlemen’s Day, featuring live music from international chart-toppers Sigma; Sunday is our third Family Fun Day of the year; and in the regular Monday evening slot the music theme is Jazz and Funk
Tickets and packages are available from our website, windsor-racecourse.co.uk, including places in the panoramic 1866 Restaurant. From the top floor of the grandstand you can enjoy the very best view of the races along with a fine dining experience at your own table for the duration of the meeting.
Tote betting facilities are close at hand too, so you can base yourself in the restaurant while taking a trip to the parade ring to view the runners before they race, or to experience the colour and excitement of the betting ring and meet the on-course bookmakers.
Next week we move on a decade, with‘00s Night; early online bookings are, as usual, available at discounted prices We hope you enjoy our latest summer offering tonight and that we will see you again soon at Royal Windsor, the Home of Monday Night Racing.
Best wishes,
Liam Johnson Executive DirectorColour Graphic

OFFICIAL BHA RATINGS EXPLAINED
The BHA Handicappers allot ratings to horses once they have taken part in a sufficient number of races to enable the Handicappers to make a numerical assessment of each horse’s ability.
The principal purpose of the ratings is to determine the weight to be carried by each runner in handicap races, with the Handicappers aiming to provide each participant with an equal chance based on its best recent orm under its optimum conditions. A horse rated 100, for example, would be set to carry 1lb more than a horse rated 99 (ignoring any penalties or allowances).
The ratings published in the racecard for handicap races are the ratings that were used to calculate the weight to be carried by each horse, whilst in non-handicaps races the rating shown is that of each runner at the time that the entries for the race were confirmed Any subsequently published change to a rating, either up or down, is shown in brackets following the rating.

If there’s a runner with the potential to be quite a bit better than their mark it’s surely BE FRANK, who looked a totally different proposition when making a winning reappearance at Salisbury 3 weeks ago Assuming he’s as effective on turf, Clipsham La Habana is a threat, along with Kessaar Power.
