Royal Windsor Racecard - Monday 14th August

S yA AT Race y Programme | £3.50 wn ul& y August 1 o R A C E N I G H T F E UR IN G town Tribute Band

WELCOME

Tonight’s classic musical theme is Soul & Motown, so we hope you will take the opportunity to while away an extra hour of the day after racing and head to the paddock lawn for the latest of our popular summer concerts on the stage near the parade ring.

This week, though, we also have a special Thursday evening meeting which we hope you will be able to attend - the third leg of this year’s Racing League with regional teams competing for the coveted trophy at the end of the series next month. It’s a colourful experience with plenty of fun and banter amongst the competitors, so make sure you’re part of the atmosphere!

Tickets for all of our meetings are available on our website, windsor-racecourse.co.uk, with discounts available for early bookings. Meal packages and tables in the 1866 Restaurant can also be chosen here, along with return journeys by riverboat from the town centre to and from our private jetty near the main entrance

There’s another big day approaching on Saturday 26 August when Bjorn Again will be headlining Abba Party Raceday, a brand-new concept for Royal Windsor Racecourse which we are sure will be one of the highlights of the season. It will certainly be one of the top events of the Bank Holiday weekend anywhere in local area, with the racing getting underway in late afternoon.

Later in the year, we have one race meeting in September and three in October before we wind down for 2023. We will then be looking forward to the following year, when jump racing will return to the racecourse for the first time in two decades.

There will be more information about this exciting development in the coming months. For now, we hope you enjoy what’s left of the Flat-racing summer and that you are lucky enough to find the winners here this evening.

Best wishes,

HHHHH Selected to win the race

HHIII Unlikely to win but not totally without hope

HIIII Can be given little or no chance.

BF - Beaten Favourite

C - Course winner

D - Distance winner

CD - Course & Distance winner

OFFICIAL BHA RATINGS EXPLAINED

The BHA Handicappers allot ratings to horses once they have taken part in a sufficient number of races to enable the Handicappers to make a numerical assessment of each horse’s ability.

The principal purpose of the ratings is to determine the weight to be carried by each runner in handicap races, with the Handicappers aiming to provide each participant with an equal chance based on its best recent form under its optimum conditions. A horse rated 100, for example, would be set to carry 1lb more than a horse rated 99 (ignoring any penalties or allowances).

The ratings published in the racecard for handicap races are the ratings that were used to calculate the weight to be carried by each horse, whilst in non-handicaps races the rating shown is that of each runner at the time that the entries for the race were confirmed Any subsequently published change to a rating, either up or down, is shown in brackets following the rating.
